“Please stay.” Roman says softly.

Peter is halfway out the front door, already fiddling withhis jacket to zip it all the way up to the top, and Roman knows that the secondPeter has done that, then he will walk out of his life forever.

“No,” Peter says, unusually cruel. “I have to leave.”

“You don’t-“ Roman crosses the room in easy strides,catching hold of Peter’s arm. Peter doesn’t jerk his arm away, instead he turnsto look at Roman, their eyes meeting. “You don’t have to go.”

Peter runs a tongue over his bottom lip and then exhalessharply. “So what do you suggest?” He asks, “Everyone is looking for me.”

“Stay here.”

“The police will come.” Peter says pointedly.

“I don’t care.” Roman says, “I’ll send them away.”

“Your mother will kill us.” Peter says.

“I don’t care what Olivia thinks.” Roman says, and wondersif he would kill his mother if Peter begged him to.

“Roman.” Peter says firm.

“Peter.” Roman replies, still staring at him. “Stay.”

And Peter sighs, and unzips his jacket, and Roman realises,with unfiltered glee, that he didn’t force Peter to do that.

Peter is staying, because Peter wants to.

I think I've watched every Hemlock Grove vid out there, and this is one of my favorites. It's a look at the many facets of their interactions.
