I find this really interesting, so I'm asking a whole bunch of questions... 1, 4, 5, 7, 10, 12, 15, 17, 20, 27, 34, 35, 38, 39, 46, 49, 50, 55. Sorry!
Favorite Childhood Book: Aside from The Royal Diaries I remember really loving the first book of The Boxcar Children. I didn't like the other books because then they went and lived not in the box car which was the whole damn point.
Bad book habit: Carrying them around in my bag so they get kind of beat up. Also, highlighting/underlining, though this is generally only with books I use for class and with those books, I normally have/will buy a second copy if it's something I REALLY want to read again.
What do I have checked out at the library: I rarely go to the library because I'm never home but I think I just returned all my books. However they were Master and God by (some woman whose name I forgot about a Roman Emperor who I think may have been Diocletian but I may be confused - I didn't get too far) and Pale Blue Dot by Carl Sagan.
Do I read one at a time or several: It depends on the sort of book. Sometimes I read like one "serious" book and then a YA fiction book on the side. Also it depends on how engrossed in a book I am. If it's something I really love then I normally read something else I'm not so into so I can read it for shorter trips/take it with me if I don't know how much time I'll have to read so I won't get disappointed if I can't read.
What is my reading comfort zone: Um... I guess historical fiction, more broadly fiction in general. I have trouble sticking with reading historical books/biographies at times, if it's not something I am SUPER DUPER into or if it's something really long.
My policy on booklending: I only lend books to my mom or more rarely my cousin. Books don't leave my family any more after I had a girl borrow one of my manga and not return it for 2 years. Even if it's some book I'm pretty sure I'll never read, I usually don't lend books.
Do I write in the margins of books: Sometimes for school, but not for a book I'm just reading for fun. This is because my school copy is usually my second (or third) copy of a book, and generally not a nice copy (it's like the cheapo Dover Thrift edition).
Most inspirational book I've read so far this year: Ok, probably Cosmos by Carl Sagan. It's just a really good general astronomy book and is easily accessible and it just has this sense of enormous hope in humanity but also shows how detrimental humanity can be to itself but how we great we could be. I dunno. It's just a good book. I generally don't read a lot of inspiring-type books though!
Most intimidating book I'm too nervous to begin: War and Peace or Anna Karenina, because I'm afraid if I'm not immediately drawn into it it will just languish there with my bookmark in it. Like my copy of The Three Musketeers. I find it hard to read longer books because I want to move on to more books/focus my time on other books.
Most money I've spent in a bookstore at once: I'm sure I've spent over $100. Now I usually spend around $30 per trip.
Do I keep my books organized: Ummm... Sort of. Not really though. I used to alphabetize but then that got screwed up. Now I kind of just keep books in really general "sections", like Fiction, Nonfiction, poetry. That's about the extent of organization in my bookshelf.
Do I keep books or give them away: It depends on how much I think I will read them again. I don't have a problem with selling them back though, especially if they've been sitting in my basement or hold no particular meaning. Like I've never read all those History of Middle Earth books I bought but I'm not going to sell them because I have the whole set and one day I might. I normally give away books for teens that I have no interest in any more.
Favorite guilt-free, pleasure reading: YA Fiction. Like the Percy Jackson books. That's about all I can think of.
