Everything that had just happened was bigger than Lucy's wildest dreams! The presence of a tiara on her head and a gorgeous dress was so foreign to her, a slight discomfort that faded with the bubbling laughter and warm company of the Narnians. She could hardly believe that she, Lucy Pevensie from Finchley, was really and truly a queen! And a queen of a land inside of a wardrobe!

The swirling and whirling dream of Cair Paravel nearly swept her up in its current, until she noticed a particular absence: Aslan. Lucy's eyes darted across the hall for a flash of golden fur and kind eyes observing the festivities, a presence sturdy and grounding, but he was nowhere to be found.

The young queen began to wander, slippers padding across the hall, peering around corners and statues until she caught a glimpse of the softest fur she had ever felt. Lucy released a sigh of relief.

"Aslan," A soft, wide smile as she stepped onto the balcony. The Great Lion was fearsome, yes, but also gentle and kind. She let a hand rest on his mane, humming happily at the picturesque sunset, "Are you going to stay with us?"

His ear twiched as he heard the voice of the young queen, Aslan turned his giant face towards Lucy with a slight smile on it as she touched his mane. He understood the meaning of her question, but he knew his time for a farewell was already close.

"I shall be with you, even if you can't see me," the Lion answered. He glanced at the setting Sun before he continued, "I am like the Sun during the night. You can't see it, but you know it's there somewhere behind the landscape. Night brings dark and cold, but it will be broken in the end, for I will rise again at dawn."

It was a prophecy for the future, for the following Dark Age and Telmarine Age, that would once come to an end with his return. Aslan knew many would lose their faith in him, but Lucy was not supposed to and for that reason he gave this revelation to her now.

"Are you and your brothers and sister feeling well at the ceremony?"

Letting out a sigh he flopped down on his bed he was glad Lucy was there with him he needed someone right now or he would go mad, even tho he didn't know where to start and he also didn't want to bother Lucy , it was really conflicting and he was exhausted.

No Need To Say Goodbye

The sound of flutes and instruments filled the hall after the coronation ceremony. Fauns and fairies were dancing happily along with other creatures, their laughter mixed up with the music. Aslan was just sitting on the edge, softly bobbing his head to the beat and smiling as he looked at his people. This was his family, now safe and free from the White Witch. 

The prophecy was fulfilled.

The sun was already setting when the Great Lion left the noisy room to look for a quiet place. He found a balcony facing west, here the music was barely heared. The lion sat down and let his gaze fix on the horizon. The fading light of the setting sun was glinting on the surface of the Great River, a warm breeze messed up his mane a little as he closed his eyes and started mumbling a prayer. No one could understand these words, only his father the Emperor. 

He didn’t mean to hide from anyone (he wouldn’t be visible if it was his goal), and he got soon found by one of the Queens.

Adiela had often heard the kings and queens speak of Spare-Oom, that strange far-off land the kings and queens hailed from.

Adiela had never been able to point to Spare-Oom on a map, but it hadn't seemed to matter much.

And then the kings and queens disappeared. They went on a hunt and never returned.

All of Narnia fell into chaos.

Now Adiela was running, fleeing her home, hoping to make it over the border to Archenland.

But it was dark and suddenly in a rush of wind and darkness, Adiela was no longer in the forest but in the middle of a busy thoroughfare dodging strange contraptions and wincing at the loud noises they made.

The court of Cair Paravel was one of light and beauty. This was no clearer than when the kings and queens held a great feast or a ball.

Adiela loved dancing, so of course, as soon as she wasn't needed by her queens, Adiela was in the thick of the dancing.

Catching Queen Lucy's eye, the young Lady of Lanternwaste went over to the queen and pulled her out onto the dance floor.

"Dance with me!"

With a sympathetic little sigh, Susan turns in her vanity chair, looking over to where Lucy's kneeling in front of their bedroom window, looking out over the city lights, warm spring breeze flowing through the open window. Susan knows that her sister has always been adventurous -- always ambitious for bigger things, always yearning for elsewhere.

And she knows that Lucy has never stopped missing the adventures they'd had at Professor Kirke's country estate, when they'd spent the autumn and winter making up kingdoms and pretending to be in far off lands, away from the war, away from the fears that they'd never see their mother again. (Narnia. They hadn't pretended, they'd gone to Narnia. Through the wardrobe in the spare room. No, that can't be right...) She only has her hair halfway set in pincurls for the night, but she sets the bobbypins down on the vanity and goes over to join Lucy by the window.

"You will," she says reassuringly, tucking a lock of hair behind her sister's ear. "I wish you could come to America, too, Lu, I really do. It's awful that you an Ed have to stay with Aunt Alberta." It's hard to know what else to say about it, though -- there's nothing she can do about it, Mother had told her she's coming, and it would be hideously ungrateful of her to act as though she doesn't want to go. She hadn't asked for it, but she can't help but be excited for the trip.

He shook his head, he figured sitting outside his tent looking up at the stars was a great example of him not sleeping. Amari his current guard, and also a captain in the army, a large snow leopard was far enough away to give him, and now his sister privacy. “I just don’t think I am quite used to it, the afterwords. I never know how to think about all that transpired.” He knew Peter didn’t but he was the better fighter so Peter would simply have to deal with it.
