Put some rounds through the @springfieldarmoryinc Ronin Operator 4.25” yesterday. . The Ronin is a nice and compact size, and those who prefer the Commander sized 1911s will feel right at home with it. . My initial impressions were that it does feel nice, the grips look classic, but are nice and provide some grip texture like the full sized Ronin. I do like the satin finish on the frame of the 4.25” due to it not showing fingerprints. (I do love the full sized Ronin as well, though.) The Ronin 4.25” feels much lighter, due to losing .75” of length on the slide/barrel, but also, because it has a lightweight aluminum frame. . While shooting the Ronin 4.25”, I enjoyed it. Definitely a little more snappier than I’m used to with a 1911, but then again, it typically only shoot the full length models that don’t feature an aluminum frame. But, you’ve got to sacrifice something to make up for something else. I think this setup in 9mm (never thought I’d say this) would be perfect for the size, weight, and for less recoil. .
