Jade Peyote
The 1st time I went to Chiapas, Mexico was an intensely mystical experience.
While I was there, I met a wonderful being in the plaza who was selling his jewelry. He told me he would take peyote and from his visions, create jewelry. I didn’t have a lot of money with me but I spent almost all of it on pieces from him. I could feel how special they were and knew I wouldn’t see the like again (and I haven’t.)
I don’t take peyote, but I have dreams about peyote and often, while I am creating, I feel guided. I am grateful for this guidance. This carving stemmed from a dream I had that demanded I carve peyote from jade. I feel like I will be making more, but this is the 1st.
It is available as an altar piece or for a really large pendant or cuff. I am not taking commissions for these, they will come as they come.
This is carved from nephrite jade. The colors are wonderful. Swirling greens, a bit of black. It feels great in hand. Almost 50 grams /244 carats, about 2.25 inches in diameter.
