Thanksgiving Drabble
Washington always celebrated Thanksgiving prior to joining the Project-- so it was no surprise, when the holiday rolled around, that he managed to rope North and York in with relative ease--and the three of them together managed to recruit the rest of the Freelancers to a meager but wonderful dinner.
They laughed, they told jokes and stories and reminisced- It was the best Thanksgiving he'd had. They stayed up late into the night, drinking and playing stupid games, even with having to work the next day. It was worth every minute of it, even when they were all moderately to extremely hung over the next morning.
It was the last time he celebrated Thanksgiving with anyone. But even after the Project fell apart, he still took that day to sit aside, have a good, meager meal, and be thankful for what he had. Even when he wasn't in the best place, he tried to find reason to be thankful.
