About: Online survey conducted from July 11 through August 16, 2025. Total responses: 806 phans, mostly from Tumblr & Discord.
Demographics
“Danny Phantom” (2004-2007) has a strong adult and diverse phandom, with mostly ace (58%) and aro (36%) phans, as well as an important representation of non-binary (39%) and trans (30%) phans. While most come from English-speaking countries (mostly the US), our community expands to more than 52 countries and 33 languages.
Age Group: 92% are adult (18+) based on 799 responses
Age 13-17: 7.3%
18-24: 39.2%
25/34: 48.1%
35-44: 5.4%
45+: 0.1%
Changes From 2017: In the 2017 survey, with 539 responses, 13.4% of phans were 25 or older. In 2025, with 799 responses, 53.6% are now 25 or older.
Native Language: the phandom speaks at least 33 languages, with 83% being English and the other top spoken languages being Spanish, German, Dutch, French, Polish, and Portuguese.
Gender: Out of 798 respondents, 40% identify as female, 9% as male, 39% as non-binary, and 12% as Other, Uncertain, or Prefer not to Say.
Identity: 30% of respondents consider themselves to be transgender.
In terms of Sexual orientation, 58% are Asexual, 26% Bi or Pan, 13% Demi, 12% Gay/Lesbian, 11% Other/Uncertain/Prefer not to say, 7% Hetero, 3% Queer.
In terms of Romantic Orientation, 36% are Aromantic, 25% Queer, 24% Bi/Panromantic, 19% Demi/Grayromantic, 12% Other/Uncertain/Prefer not to say, 9% Homoromantic, 6% Heteromantic
27% picked more than one option for Romantic Orientation; 26% picked more than one option for Sexual Orientation.
Country: Out of 762 responses, phans come from 52 countries around the world.
Specifically: 71% are phans from the US (74% in 2017), 6% Canada, 3.1% Australia (4% Oceania), 2.8% UK, 2.2% Germany, 1.6% Netherlands (14% Europe in total), 1.3% Mexico (4% LATAM & Caribbean), 2% Asia, and 0.4% Africa.
Flags included: Nigeria, Zambia, Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Mexico, Peru, Uruguay, Venezuela, Canada, US, Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Rumania, Scotland, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, UK, Wales, Russia, Turkey, China, India, Israel, Japan, Kazakhstan, Kuwait, Malaysia, Philippines, Taiwan, Vietnam, Australia, New Zealand.
As part of the questions in the survey, we asked phans in what year they joined the phandom and the approximate period when they first watched the show. With additional information about historical moments in the phandom (considering official dates, phandom events, headcanons that made an impact, etc), here's an incomplete timeline to compare moments in the phandom with how we've grown through the years.
"But you missed [X] event!" Yesssss, probably, but this is meant to give a quick overview and to allow you to share moments that were relevant to you throughout the years.
Please note that I've only included one phandom issue in here because bigotry does need to be called out and remembered as part of our 21-year-long history. Other than that? There are way more positive things to celebrate than negative things to add here.

Hi, again! Here's the next part: interaction. We're a very creative fandom with people more likely to create Fanfiction and we all enjoy any fanwork created by others. However, people are 2.2 times more likely to interact through kudos and sharing content than leaving a comment (which is entirely valid too).
Lurkers are also a part of our community, but out of the 82% of lurkers, almost all interact some other way with the fandom.
There are more details about when people spending more time in the fandom joined or their type of interests, but it's amazing to see so many actively participating once a week.

Communities in this case considers:
Spaces created to socialize around a topic (often as members of clubs, servers, communities, groups, etc.)
Hashtags used to socialize a topic (#danny phantom / #dannyphantom being the most common parent hashtag across platforms for everything ranging from canon material, fanon content, OCs, AUs, crossovers, events, etc...).
Events and projects where people participate around specific activities, usually with a specific deadline.
About Phandom Events:
Did you know 2025 had posting dates for more than 36 projects and events? This includes 5 collaborative efforts (3 zines, 2 tarot decks, 1 RePhanimated project), 59 stories with art for @invisobang (more to come with the @dpxdcbigbang posting soon), or the 1.2 million words posted on @phicphight alone.

Last but not least, most communities and responses counted here come from English-speaking communities. But, did you know there are Arabic Telegram groups with up to 2.3k members to share Danny Phantom content? Or that there are fanfic sites in Russian or Japanese with hundreds of Danny Phantom fics (+670 and +490 respectively)? Or that there's a large Spanish-speaking community on Facebook with up to 17k phans?

Life's been a bit too much these last few weeks but I'm slowly working on finishing the results for the survey. But to stall a bit more, I mean-- get some good references, I'd like to ask for your help in sending over any of the following:
Past Phandom poll, survey, or stats:
What I'm looking for: any past polls, surveys, or stats done with Danny Phantom phans on any platform (Tumblr, Discord, quiz sites, etc). It can come from any year, just as long as it has at least 300 responses. Individual results are not necessary; a link to a Tumblr post or a screenshot to the overall % of results are fine.
What they'll be used for: just to provide a comparison and maybe even validate the coherence in the 2025 Phandom Survey with current results.
Types of Topics: The topics you submit can be about demographics, phandom interests, phandom preferences, or anything covered in the 2025 Phandom Survey.
Phandom Timeline, History Posts, or Lore:
What I'm looking for: any posts, sites, or links to Phandom timelines, history recounts, phandom lore of important phandom events that can help understand the different Phandom generations. From knowing that the early phandom years had the phan wars or that the 2010's phans saw the origins of lore and memes that continue being half-alive to this day (like Wes Weston)... this is all welcome to understand where we came from and what's been going on.
What it'll be used for: like with the polls, these will just be used to make a timeline for context of those learning more about the phandom and what has brought us together across generations. Some people might have lived through some wild things that new phans might not really be aware of.
Types of Topics: Anything that relates to the Danny Phantom phandom in online spaces or things that might impact the overall phandom.
