Mike Kim - Laugh So Loud (0-100 Pounds Remix)
Good Food, Perfect Gas Sign, Holidays are Soooon
On Wednesday, I got to check up with the homie, Jessica Hu! I haven't seen her in a long time so it was awesome to catch up with her. I scooped her up at her new spot in Queen Anne. Her best friend and roommate also came out with us to this spot in Greenlake. I forget what the place was called. Not that memorable... lol We also hung out with Fish when we got to the spot. He was spinning at the bar. It's crazy how fast time flies. I met Jess via Anna Quach cause I wanted a dancer for my first music video. Jess and I have been cool ever since. She's not only a talented dancer, but a great person. Follow her on social media @jess2sick....
You ever have those signs that it's going to be a great day? For me, one of those signals are when the gas pump automatically stops itself perfectly on it's own... lol
So, I knew Friday was going to be a good day... and it sure was! After I picked up Stacey, we hopped over to Paseo in Fremont! Probably one of the most delicious things you can ever taste. Their "Carribbean Roast" was the second best sandwich on a Food Network show. I forget which one. But #1 was a burger, so that don't count. It's delicious. The perfect pork, the grilled onions, the aioli, the bread (from Macrina), etc... just PERFECTION! Paseo 4225 Fremont Ave N Seattle, WA 98103
On the way to Paseo, Stacey saw a gelato place and immediately looked it up on Yelp. It had great ratings so we went to it afterwards for dessert. You know the Dessert Queen needs her fix. The spot was awesome! I got an egg nog and dutch choclate gelato. Stacey got the pistacchio and egg nog gelato! Sirena Gelato 3415 Fremont Ave N Seattle, WA 98103
Afterwards, we went over to Best Buy and copped some Chrismukkah... I'll explain when it gets closer to the holidays!!! Then we went over to Whole Foods to buy some beverages... They had some Apple Cider samples and they were DELICIOUS! So, we bought a gallon... lol Local Washington Apples and no added sugar!!!
I know it says "half gallon"... we bought two of them! I don't know why, but buying two "half gallon" was cheaper than buying a gallon... :) OH! And I found one of these at Winco! Shout out to Diddy!
On Sunday, Stacey made some breakfast sandwiches before the Seahawks game! She took all the ingridients that I LOVE! She bought croissants from The French Bakery in Bellevue... I LOVE THEIR CROISSANTS! Then she got Turkey Bacon, Avocado, and made grilled onions! IT WAS AMAZING!!!!!
We had a couple of hours to kill before the game, so we went out. Stacey washed her car at Brown Bear. We got some maple bars from one of my favorite spots, Happy Doughnuts. Then we got bubble tea from our favorite milk tea spot, Boba Express! :) With all that awesomeness... of course the Seahawks would win. OHHHH and Percy Harvin played! Watch out NFL... we're special!
Shout out to my best friend, Jason for getting me on these chips. They are delicious. Oh and thanks to Stacey for buying it for me!!!
Around lunch time (ish)... my mom made some beef and vegetable stir fry... BOMBBBBBBB
And during Sunday Night Football, Stacey made some delicious jambalaya!!! What a great weekend!
Hope everyone had a great weekend! Have a great weekend, everyone!
Jenny Suk, Hotel Party, Derrick and Ashley's Wedding!
A long and amazing week.
Wednesday, I picked up my Tux for my great friend, Derrick's wedding. On the way back, I stopped by Best Buy and picked up the Diamond Edition of "The Little Mermaid". I knew Stacey wanted it and I wanted to get it for her. So, we ended up watching it that night! :) Ariel is hot!
On Thursday, one of my students, Nick brought me a Passionfruit Kit Kat! He got me my first Green Tea Kit Kats too! He's a very sweet teen and I was very appreciative for his kind gesture.
After work, Stacey, my sister, and I stopped by "El Sabor" for dinner. I was going to get tacos but I got so hungry that I ordered a burrito... HAHAHA El Sabor is ALWAYS too good!
Friday, I had work for the majority part of the day. Towards the end, I get a text from Jenny Suk. I met Jenny at a hotel party around 3 years ago. I didn't really get to know her til we started talking on aim... LOL Aim actually helped my relationship with a few youtubers... hahaha Anyways, she hit me up cause she was in town for a show. So, after work, I dropped by her hotel to chill with her and the homies, Alan Letran, Brian Franada, Lil Crazed, and newly homie Benji. It was a chill time. I had to leave early cause I had work the next morning. They gave me a hard time... but whatever. hahaha Got a lot of love for the homie, Jenny.
Saturday, I had work til 3. After work, I headed up north to Stacey's house. I dropped off my car at her house and my buddy, James picked me up for Derrick's Wedding festivities. We dropped by Safeway and picked up essentials... a few bottles of hard alcohol, 2 cases of beer, and 4 champagne bottles. Then we headed over to the Bellevue Hyatt! We rented a suite and it was SUPER DOPE! We invited friends over that's attending the wedding. We watched the Huskies game. ugh... I don't want to talk about it. But screw the refs! Had some emotional words. Then headed over to Lucky Strike, kicked it with a bacherlorette party... LOL GOOD TIMES!
I got like 2 hours of sleep cause James snores so loud! LOL Now let me write a few words about my friend, Derrick. I've known Derrick for a little over 6 years. We met in college. He used to come over to the apt that I used to live in. We started carpooling together and hooping regularly at the IMA as well. Then we started recording songs at the same time. It was in that process that I knew we had a different relationship. We had a lot of similar interests even in being so different in personality. He was there for me through some rough times. He's the only friend that I both lived and worked with. Bartending with him and learning from him was and is some of the best times that I've had. I can't repay him for being a good friend. But I can be there for him when he needs me. We don't see eachother everyday like we once did, but it's okay. We've built that relationship where we no longer need to see eachother all the time. But it's always awesome when we hang out though. I love this guy and I wish all the happiness available in this world for him and his wife Ashley. Derrick gave all the groomsmen gifts before the wedding. In this bag was a Nixon watch, chocolate caramel popcorn, and some altoids! Dopeness! Thank you Derrick and Ashley for the gifts. I'm not much of a gift person (It's something I'm working on) but it's much appreciated!
We spent a long time taking photos, so I had to take a selfie with the groom and the groomsmen!
Then my beautiful date joined me at the wedding! She makes me so happy :)
Then it was the ceremony! I couldn't take photos cause I was standing up there with them. But hopefully, I can dig up some pictures from someone else! lol And then the reception! The food, champagne, and cake were all delicious!
A nice photo of their first dance!
So...... at the end of the wedding. The groom and bride both throw something. I don't even know what the guy is throwing. I know the girl is throwing the flowers. Apparently, I'm the only one who didn't know what it meant to catch it. LOL I knew what it meant when the girl catches it. But anyways... I'm competitive and I had a bit to drink... and this was the outcome.
LOL Hope everyone had a great weekend! Have a great week, everyone!
LA PT. 2: Bottega Louie, Santa Monica, Lemonade, Daikokuya, 72 North
Part 2! Saturday morning, we got up early to go eat at "Bottega Louie" in downtown LA! I've heard a lot about this place from multiple sources and we've been looking forward to it! We went a little early cause their bakery section opens first then the dining section later. I wanted to be seated early so we dropped by early. It was HUMONGOUS! Stacey got a mocha while we waited for the dining section to open up. We were one of the first ppl seated and it was such a great experience. The waiter was REALLY nice and he even ended up giving us some free macarons! I ordered the steak and eggs and Stacey ordered the lobster hash! They were both so good! The steak was cooked wonderfully and the lobster hash was delicious! But the best part about "Bottega Louie" was their macarons!!!! I swear most places have terrible macarons. Honoree is the only one I've been really rocking with. But "Bottega Louie" is UP THERE! We got the pistachio macarons cause other flavors haven't been as good. The waiter sneaks us a salted caramel and strawberry macaron and it was CHANGED MY LIFE! The strawberry macaron tasted like strawberry shortcake in a macaron. SO GOOOOOOOOD! I can't say enough about it. Bottega Louie 700 S Grand Ave Los Angeles, CA 90017
After brunch, we headed over to Santa Monica to shop and hang out at the beach. We parked by the beach cause we knew we were going to end up chillin' in the sand. We shopped first at Third Street Promenade! Stacey picked up some cute shirts from Zara and Brandy Mellville. I ended up picking up this button up from Cotton On. It's pretty dope!
Then we headed back to the beach and had fun in the sun! It was SOOOOOO HOT! THE WHOLE TRIP! But it's okay cause that's what we came for? LOL
After hanging out at the beach for a few hours, we rolled over to Venice Beach to shop at "Scotch and Soda". Stacey ended up picking a shirt from "Scotch and Soda"! I love the store but I haven't found the right thing for me. I found this vest once, but they didn't have one in my size. Sigh... first world problems! lol Then we walked over to "Lemonade". Stacey wanted to go to this spot and it was awesome! It's considered "Southern California Comfort Food"... and they have great food and even better lemonades! I got the watermelon rosemary lemonade and it's AMAZING!!!!!! Lemonade 1661 Abbot Kinney Blvd Venice, CA 90291
We drove back to downtown LA. We rolled through "Skid Row" by accident and it made kind of sad. So many people are struggling and I can't see how it's going to get better for them. Sometimes, we're so wrapped up in our own lives to the point where we ignore the world's problems. It's such an ironic feeling while on vacation. After passing through it, we stopped by RifLA cause I saw this sneaker from the website that I saw was "in-store only"... but they sold it. Ah well! We walked over to "Daikokuya" afterwards and had dinner. We've heard about the hype, so we waited it out and tried it. The food was good. Nothing mind blowing... but it's definitely hyped. 10 bucks for ramen is too much for me... lol Daikokuya 327 E 1st St Los Angeles, CA 90012
After dinner, we went back to the hotel. Well, we picked up a bottle of Jack before heading back to the hotel. lol The homies, Casey and Jenna came through to hang out on Saturday night. We prefunked... excuse me "pregame" since I'm in Cali at the hotel before heading out to Pasadena... The homies, Serts, hit me up about a club/lounge that he was djing at called "72 North"... so we came through! I haven't seen him in a few years, so I was super excited! ALSO! Jenna turned 21 at midnight so we waited til midnight and she got to enter the club with her actual id... inside joke.... hahahaha It was good times, Serts let me have my Jay-Z moment in the club too. He knows I love Jay-Z! We had a lot of drinks and just partied it up.... Serts showed me so much love! I got a lot of love for that dude! Follow him! www.twitter.com/djserts
After 72 North, we stopped at "Lucky Boy" for some food before heading back to the hotel. We split the breakfast burrito and zucchini fries! The zucchini fries were crack! SO GOOOOOOD! Then we had some drunken moments and conversations.. hahahaha Good times! Happy Birthday to Jenna!!!! Follow her at www.twitter.com/jennamariko Lucky Boy 640 S Arroyo Pkwy Pasadena, CA 91106
End of Part 2!
Jason's Bday, Travis' Going Away, Smart Guy...
I was trying to find some shows to watch while I run at the gym. So, I chose to watch Smart Guy this week. A particular episode stuck out for me. In this episode, TJ dresses up like a "thug" to impress a girl he likes. His dad says he doesn't want him to dress like that because ppl will think he's a "trouble maker". It really related to me about Trayvon Martin. TJ says that "it's just clothes"... but his dad knew better. How much of a role do clothes have on ppl's prejudice? Little? A lot? I'm sure it's different to everyone but it seems as if they usually have an impact. Here's the full dialogue (watch for yourself at 11:41) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F8gLx-5VmiY Dad: Go upstairs and put on your regular clothes TJ: This is what kid's wear Dad: Look, I don't care what they're wearing, TJ. I don't want you dressing like a thug. You're going to go outside in these clothes and people take one look at you and they're going to think you're a trouble maker. And that's not who you are... so, go change your clothes.
I know that there's no excuse for what happened with Trayvon and Zimmerman... and there's definitely racism involved... but how much did his oufit impact the incident? Would Zimmerman go after him if Trayvon was wearing a suit? Or some polos? We'll never know... the only thing we know is that Trayvon isn't coming back. And we need to learn from this incident and hope that one day, innocent murders won't happen anymore... On Thursday, I had plans to meet up with some friends for Travis' going away. Travis Graham (follow him on twitter @travisheights) has been a good friend for the past year and I'm going to miss him a lot! Jason surprised me by showing up as I was finishing up work. He guessed which school I was going to be at.. and guessed right. LOL Afterwards, we rolled together over to "Shin Sung" in Federal Way for Korean BBQ. Some good times with Travis, David, AJ, JD, Chris, and Jason. After eating, we all headed over to "Cockatoos" for more drinks. For me, it was rare to hang out with 6 other guys around the same age and we all got a long pretty well. Some great stories were shared and I'm sure alcohol attested to much of it... lol Sorry for no pictures... FAIL Friday, I had an morning appointment at Lexus of Bellevue for my car. After I dropped off my car, I took their shuttle ride to LA Fitness while my car was getting maintenance. I'm not a morning person, so let's just say that the work out killed me... LOL After I picked up my car, I headed over to Seattle to pick up Stacey from work. We wanted to get some deep dish pizza so we headed over to "Kylie's Chicago Pizza" in Fremont! Their deep dish pizza is legit! We found it from groupon and loved it, so we came back. Their Chicago Classic is DELICIOUS!!!!! Kylie's Chicago Pizza 3601 Fremont Ave N #101, Seattle, WA 98103
After eating pizza, we headed up to Stacey's home. Before we dropped by "Spotted Cow" in the Mill Creek Town Center. Last week, we got the Hazelnut Gelato and it was too good. We went back... LOL Afterwards, we went back to my house. We added an extra day to our trip to LA in a few weeks. I can't wait for it... which the irony is, I'm also going to LA in a few days. Saturday, Stacey and I headed to Travis' family bbq for his going away. It was good times, once again. I finally got to meet his girlfriend! I've heard so much about her. I think knowing that your friend has somebody special when he moves away to a strange city makes you feel better. As a friend, you'll always be concerned about whether they'll be lonely or homesick. So, it was definitely awesome to meet Ally...
So much fooooooood. It was bomb though. Stacey made a Red Velvet Cake too! It was DELICIOUSSSSS!
I got a damn ticket while we were there... but let's not talk about that. lol It was nice to spend the day in the sun with homies and of course, Stacey :)
Later that night, we headed up to "Daniel's Broiler" for Jason's Bday dinner. I can't believe we're getting so old... lol It was good times. We got a private room and it was so quiet. Never been to a place that didn't even have background music... but it felt like we reserved the whole floor so it was dope and private. Daniel's Broiler's steaks are super official! Fun times with the homies!
We rolled down to Lucky Strike after dinner. "Lucky Strike" has a pretty dope hip hop side... too bad nobody's on that side. SMH We took some shots and played a few games as well! LOL
Happy Birthday to my best friend, Jason Lee! Follow this guy on instagram and twitter @dontgojasonwtf!!!!! Sunday, Stacey and I went out to "Geraldine's Counter". Stacey's been wanting to go for a while. The food was delicious! They serve caffe vita coffee and fresh squeezed orange juice.... BOMB! I got the country fried steak and Stacey got the Slammin with French Toast! Geraldine's Counter 4872 Rainier Ave S Seattle, WA 98118
After we ate, we went over to Coulon Beach. Walked around then found a spot and chilled there for a few hours. It's nice to have someone and that we always have something to talk about. It brings me back from the verge of insanity.... lol
We headed back home afterwards. I was organzing some stuff for this upcoming week's work. And Stacey cooked our lunches for the week! We had some of it for dinner and it was bombbbbbb!
Then my mom made moolnengmyun.... LOL SO good and so REFRESHING on a hot day!!!!
I have a busy upcoming week. I have a camp opening up for the kids for this week in the morning, classes in the evening, then I'm heading out to LA on Friday. Life is beautiful though. I hope everyone had a great weekend! Have a great week, everyone!
Las Vegas Vacation
I was feeling SUPER sick on Monday and Tuesday. I was getting worried cause Stacey and I planned on going to Vegas for a while now... By Wednesday, I felt a lot better. I wasn't 100% but from where I was on Monday, it was a miracle... hahaha
Wednesday night, I went up to pick up Stacey. We grabbed dinner at Red Robin... always hits the spot! Then we came back to my house and crashed for our early flight on Thursday.
Thursday, we had a 7AM flight to Vegas. Which is nice cause the lines aren't long at the airport and it's easy to fall asleep on the plane. Landing in Vegas, I saw a tweet that the homie, AJ Rafael was going to be in Vegas too. We tweeted eachother at the exact same time about the exact same thing... LOL We just texted and decided to meet up on Saturday. After checking into our hotel at Aria, we went to grab lunch at Secret Pizza! I found the place online and it had great ratings. The crazy thing is, they literally keep the location a bit of a "secret"... LOL Even the workers will tell you what floor, but then they tell you to look for it. It was cool though, we found it pretty easily. The pizza was AMAZING! The Italian sausage was on POINT! OH MANNNNN! If you're in Vegas, you got to try it! Secret Pizza The Cosmopolitan Las Vegas, NV
After pizza, we went shopping for the next 6 hours. Seriously... lol Stacey goes hard. And there's so many places to shop in Vegas. Of course, the Dessert Queen needed a fix while we shoped. We stopped by Bouchon Bakery at the Venetian! We got some macarons and TKO! The TKO was okay... but the macarons were really good! The worker hooked it up and gave us an extra one. He also gave us an extra Strawberry Lemonade! Dude was dope! Definitely try the spot!!! Bouchon Bakery The Venetian Las Vegas, NV
We went to the stores in Caesar's, The Venetian, Palazzo, Wynn/Encore, and Fashion Show Mall. It wasn't a quantity shopping spree... it was definitely a quality one. She got some heels from "Jimmy Choo's", a shirt from "Scotch & Soda", and three bracelets at "Henri Bendel"... I copped a jacket from "Top Man". All of our stuff were 40% off or more.
After shopping, we grabbed a cab to Fogo De Chao for dinner! Fogo is our favorite Brazilian spot! They don't have one in Seattle (though "The Grill from Ipanema" is awesome too!) so we made it so that we can go in Vegas... Their service is arguably the best of any restaurants... Here some pics of the food. SO DELICIOUS!!!! Fogo De Chao 360 E Flamingo Rd Las Vegas, NV 89169
After dinner, the Dessert Queen needed another fix... lol We found Pink Berry on the way to CVS. We don't have a Pink Berry in Seattle, so we definitely wanted to try it. It was really good! I think Yogurtland has more options.. but Pink Berry had some stuff I've never seen at a Froyo shop. I'm not a huge fan of froyo, but it was good! I got a cookies and cream froyo with almond roco, milk chocolate shavings, dark chocolate rice crisps, and chocolate hazelnut wafers! LEGIT! Pink Berry
Hit the tables after that! Did not win at all... LOL
Friday, we got up early to grab brunch at "Mon Ami Gabi" at the Paris hotel! Stacey got the Croque Madame and I got the Ham and Cheese Omlete! The food was really good! i should have gotten the steak and eggs cause it is a steak house... I failed... ahahah Next time! Mon Ami Gabi Paris Las Vegas Hotel Las Vegas
After we ate, we walked back to the hotel and got ready to hit the pool! I needed a tan... hahahaha
Chillen poolside
We were at the pool for a little over an hour. Afterwards, we showered and headed out for more shopping... lol This time, we went around Crystals and the shops at Cosmo. I copped a shirt from All Saints at Cosmo. It was decent price for that store... lol I heard "Holstein's" got good burgers and shakes. We had plans to meet up with my family for dinner so we didn't want to get full. So we just grabbed a milkshake. It's PRICEY... but it's SO GOOD! Holstein's The Cosmopolitan Las Vegas
But we were slightly hungry and we weren't going to eat for another 4 hours. So, we went back to Secret Pizza for just a few slices... LOL This time, we got the "White Pizza" and a deep dish pizza. The deep dish was trash...idk how that happened but yeah. The regular slices are bomb though. Secret PIzza The Cosmopolitan Las Vegas
We went back to the hotel after. Stacey took a nap for a few hours and I just watched TV. It was nice to just kick back and relax... haha After watching a few episodes of "Boy Meets World" and "Friends", we got ready and headed to the Bellagio to meet up with my family. My parents suite stunted on me so hard. It was way UP there with a BOMB view! 5 bathrooms in the suite... The hell you need 5 bathrooms with only two beds in the hotel suite?! lol It was impressive as shit though. Here's the view outside their window... Parent's baller suite Bellagio
That's out their window... SMH. Anyways, my dad's uncle met up with my parents in Vegas. They spent the weekend together. I've never met them before. It was awesome though. He's my grandmother's brother. He resembled her so much. She passed away when I was 15 and being around him made me feel like her spirit was there. It was pretty damn emotional for me. We all grabbed dinner together at Jasmine in Bellagio. EXPENSIVE ass Chinese Restaurant. We went HAM though. Raw Tuna, Lobster Dumplings, Egg Plant Tempura, Coconut Walnut Prawns, Steak, 2.5 lbs of Garlic Lobster, Crabs, Mongolian beef, and more! The bill was no joke either... lol Jasmine The Bellagio Las Vegas
It was basically $100 a person and we were a party of 6. You do the math... After dinner, Stacey and I had tickets to see "Beatles Love" at The Mirage. Heard great things and the show was awesome! Aria gave us tickets to the show for free and it did not disappoint! Beatles Love The Mirage Las Vegas
After the show, we headed back to The Bellagio... we were on the guestlist for Kendrick Lamar at "The Bank" club. Well, long story short. They were unorganized, they were over capacity, and kept a bunch of ppl waiting outside when they weren't going let anyone in... SMH I don't want to comment anymore on it, but the promoters were trash. Saturday morning, we met up with my family once again for brunch at "The Bellagio"... We usually have brunch once there everytime we come to Vegas. And since my parents were staying there, we had brunch together. After brunch, we chilled at the pool for a few hours. Got my awesome watermelon juice! haha
I'm a lucky guy
After the pool, we got ready to meet up with the homie, AJ Rafael. I met AJ almost 3 years ago at an ISA show. We've talked a few times before via twitter but that was the first time I met him. He's a real dope guy. I don't like very many dudes in the youtube buiz, but he's a good guy. We chilled with him and his friend Jaquelyn before we watched AJ's sister, Justine perform at the dance nationals! I noticed a bunch of little girls at the airport on the way to Vegas, and that's what it was for! Such a fun experience!
After Justine performed, Stacey and I had to leave to grab some food before the Beyonce concert! We ate at "Earl of Sandwich"... The person who created this place, invented sandwiches... Isn't that crazy?! Anyways, my favorite is "The Original"... the roast beef and horseradish is amazing!
Earl of Sandwich Planet Hollywood Las Vegas
Before heading to the MGM Grand, the Dessert Queen needed a fix. We grabbed some ice cream and gelato at the Sugar Factory. It was goooood! Sugar Factory Planet Hollywood Las Vegas
And at least, we made it to the MGM for Beyonce's show. It was epic, it did not disappoint, it was incredible... She's a living legend. I saw so many women crying out of joy. It was crazy. When she came close, it was wild to me that Beyonce was that close... LOL Mind boggling
I was honestly exhausted by the end of the show. It was a long and fun weekend! Sunday, we had an early flight back to Seattle. We grabbed some food at the Aria bakery before our flight.
_
Had a little incident with the taxi driver. But it's all good and nothing I want to publicize. I was incredibly tired and while going through security, the TSA Officer asks me "how old are you" while checking my id. I reply "27"... he looks dead at my face and says "I asked how are you?".. I was like "wow, I'm so tired"... hahaha so a minute after that, someone behind me says "excuse me sir, please follow me". And I was like "damn it, it's going to be a random search".. I turn around and it was one of my student's dad... hahahahaha When we got back to Seattle... it was SO HOT! Not as hot as vegas... but Vegas has great air conditioning everywhere. Stacey wanted to grab some Korean BBQ when we got back home, so we went over to Shin Sung. Food is good, service sucks....
Shin Sung 1805 S 316th St Federal Way, WA
_
_ We walked around the Des Moines Pier afterwards... the breeze felt amazing! We took a nap afterwards and then Stacey cooked salmon (With onion mayo) with wild rice and vegetables! It's seriously legit! SO GOOOOOOOD!
My gf and sister's bday week!
This week is a prime example of why I love my life. Busy week of work and I love every second of it! But this week was the birthday week of my sister and my gf. Their birthdays are one day apart and it's always kind of hectic, but fun!
Friday, I picked up my gf early to head for birthday brunch. She wanted High Tea at the Fairmount. We've had it a few times before and it's actually pretty wonderful. A brief history between "High Tea" and myself. When I was in 6th grade, my elementary school did a "High Tea". I abosolutely hated it. I behaved poorly and I remember what one of the teachers said to me. She said, "this might come in handy one day"... to which I replied, "I don't think I'll ever have high tea in my life..." And she cleverly replied to me, "Maybe you'll date someone who'll like high tea"... I thought to myself "I doubt it". BUT MAN! Was I wrong.... hahahaha My gf loves high tea and I've grown to really enjoy it! It's pretty pricey if you go to a decent one. But yeahhh, here are the pictures from "High Tea" with Stacey! The Georgian at the Fairmont (Seattle) 411 University St Seattle, WA 98101
I had the Chamomile Tea... it was pretty damn good. Stacey had the Jasmine Green Tea, she enjoyed her tea as well. The fruit was delicious and the food was FANTASTIC! I don't remember what the sandwiches were exactly but they give you 4 different kinds and they were all delicious! THE SCONES! They're ALWAYS on point! SO BOMBBBBB! They also give you 4 different desserts and they were very good as well! Such a classy and delicious meal! I told them it was Stacey's bday and they gave her some chocolate covered strawberries. I got Stacey some Miu Miu heels from Neiman Marcus.
Yeah, I'm a lucky guy :) Living that designer life (jk kind of) lol I rocked some Salvatore Ferragmo shoes and Stacey wore Christian Louboutins that she got at the 25th Anniversary party at Nordstroms!
via Stacey's instagram! Follow @staceysetoki www.instagram.com/staceysetoki We had Stacey's family dinner at one of our favorite Indian spot, Clay Pit! Didn't get a chance to take pics (we were starving)... but the food was good, as always! Took a photo outside of Clay Pit! Clay Pit 15418 Main St Mill Creek, WA 98012
Afterwards, we stopped by "Bluebird" to get some caffe vita ice cream for the ice cream cake that Stacey is making for my sister's birthday on Sunday! Then we went to my house and KOed! Saturday morning, we went out and got some Mexican food from my favorite Mexican spot, El Sabor. I had to work for a portion of the day so we grabbed food to go and ate it at home. Stacey got some Huevos Rancheros and I got the Steak Rancheros... it was SO GOOOOOOOOD! El Sabor 501 N Central Ave Kent, WA 98032
The food was so good. We KOed for a little bit after we ate... haha Then I went to work and Stacey made the birthday cake for my sister. She also cleaned... she's too incredible. After I got done working, it was dinner time. We planned on having dinner at "Local 360"! "Local 360" is a restaurant in Belltown that only uses ingriedients within 360 miles of Seattle. Their food is incredible. I went there once before with Travis Graham, Jenny Suk, AJ, and David Beukama. Stacey's been wanting to go and I was not smart in taking her before... lol We split the burger, mac and cheese, and poutine. The food was delicious! Dessert was eh... but yeah. Amazing meal overall!!! Local 360 2234 1st Ave Seattle, WA 98121
Sunday was my sister's birthday!!!! I can't believe she's such a grown woman now. Stacey did such a wonderful job with her birthday cake! Caffe vita ice cream with almonds, fudge, and marble cake!!!! We also went to the Snoqualmie Casino Buffet as a family. I had so much food and Stacey cracked so much crab for me.... hahahaha I love her. Here's some pics of my sister and her birthday cake! Oh! I got her an Earl Thomas jersey! Stacey got her a big bottle of her favorite perfume!! And my sister got Stacey a few books that she wanted! It was an awesome week!
Follow my sister on instagram @Kristy_Kim and follow her tumblr http://kristyhkim.tumblr.com/
Stacey's Birthday is technically Monday (May 20) which is in 15 min... so I'm trying to hurry up and finish this blog. She has a business trip all week and she won't be here for her birthday... which sucks. But I'm so proud of her and her consistent development in her career. She's moving up and doing so good for herself. I'm very lucky to have someone who inspires me so much. Got to head out now and sing her "Happy Birthday" and take her to the airport tomorrow morning! Hope everyone had a great weekend and have a great week everyone!!!!
Grapes at last and Night Market with the homies
What a seriously jam packed week!
Very happy with everything that's going on with my life. The only thing that sucked is I hurt my foot on Monday which caused me again to miss the gym. I hate it. It makes me feel like shit. No other way to explain it. But whatever, I can't sacrifice hurting myself even more.
Monday! So... I have a history with sneakers. As a kid, I've ALWAYS loved sneakers. My grandfather (who was my first best friend and a figure I looked up to) loved shoes and I'm pretty sure that had an influence on me. Growing up in the Michael Jordan and Fresh Prince era, I naturally gravitated towards Jordans. But I'm very biased towards Jordans that MJ or Will Smith rocked. The Grapes is a shoe I could never get my hands on. I had a chance in 2006 and it ended up ugly. I lined up early and it was a mess. Ppl came with guns and the workers saved way too many shoes for themselves. In a nutshell, over 300 ppl came for a sneaker release when they were only going to give away 12. But yeah, so I was excited for this year's release. Long story short, I got reccommended to use this "RSVP" website and it didn't work. And I don't want to get into it cause it really pissed me off. But my homie Alan (www.twitter.com/ant_206) tracked down the Grapes for me at a reasonable price. I only ended up paying like 40 bucks more than I would have if the "rsvp" thing would have worked. SO yeahhhh, with that long introduction... My Grapes :) Jordan V Grapes
Some things are meant to be and some things are not. I was beginning to think that I just wasn't meant for the sneaker. But yeahhh, you appreciate something so much more when it takes so long to acquire. Jumping forward to Wednesday. I got my sunglasses shipped to my house! I was at Urbanity last week. Urbanity is located near U Village and it's a real dope streetwear store! The owner took the time to talk to me about these sunglasses I was looking at. The brand is called "Super" and he was so helpful. The only problem at the store was that they didn't have the model I liked. And he sounded like they weren't going to get it for a while. And I'm going to Vegas next month, summer is around the corner, and I'm going to LA at the end of summer. But yeah, I LOVE these sunglasses! They are handmade from Italy and I can tell the quality when wearing the sunglasses. I found them for a DEAL on revolveclothing.com!!! And I found a code so I ended up getting the sunglasses for cheaper than I would have anywhere else including Urbanity... so it worked for me! But yeahhh, my new sunglasses!!!!
Super Francis Basic (Black/Gold)
I'm so glad I never bought Ray Bans! LOL EVERYBODY and their momma got them. I never really liked that. Plus, it didn't feel right on my face. And just having handmade sunglasses from Italy feels nice. But anywassss, I'm spending way too much money! I also bought this button up shirt but I didn't take any photos of it. haha
On Friday, I picked up Stacey and headed over to "Skillet Diner"! One of my favorite spots in Capitol Hill to eat at! I get the "Fried Chicken Sammy" and it's AMAZING! The fried chicken is so bomb! The jalapeno aioli is OFFICIAL!!!!!! I substitue the poutine and it's just an overall great meal. I can never finish the poutine though... haha Stacey gets the Chicken and Waffles... It's official! A definite must try joint!!!

After dinner, Stacey had to help her mom skype with her aunt from the Philippines. After that was settled, we headed over to "Whole Foods" for grocery shopping. I was so thirsty and got a "Arnold Palmer" from "Sweet Leaf"... So, a little over a year ago, I was visiting my sister in Bellingham when she attended Western Washington University. We hopped over to the grocery store and got these ice teas called "Sweet Leaf". It's an organic ice tea brand and they are SO OFFICIAL! SCREW Arizona Ice Tea or whatever. This is the real deal! The homie Lyle (Alyssa Bernal's guitarist) told me it's a Texas chain. It's not really mainstream yet but it's being distributed heavily lately. Their "Arnold Palmer" (which is not called Arnold Palmer cause Arizona copyrighted the name... it's just half lemonade and half ice tea)... is the best! If you ever see them in your area, try it!!!!
Saturday, I had work earlier in the day. Stacey got up early and made us breakfast tacos before I had to go to work. It was bombbbb! The photo is blurry and from my phone. Double fail... LOL Sorry! But it was so delicious!
The kids were awesome. I love teaching them. Afterwards, I took a brief nap then we headed over to the UW Night Market where my friends, David and Andrew Fung along with Joseph Vincent were performing. I've previously blogged about David and Andrew but if you didn't see, at least check out their youtube! www.youtube.com/fungbroscomedy! I met Joseph Vincent almost 3 years ago at a show in Vancouver. I didn't really want to meet him cause I thought he seemed arrogant on Youtube. But I couldn't have been more wrong. Dude is real sweet! He's a good homie and I fully support the guy. I'm homies with his manager as well, Tom Ngo. Tom's a character, himself... hahaha Good times! Here's some photos from the night market. UW Night Market (UW Campus, Red Square)
I ran into a lot of homies. The Kollaboration staff was there. Alex Hu was hosting. Jessica Hu AKA jess2sick was there. I also ran into David Beukema, Steve Kwak, Brian Franada, Kenson Lee, Alisa Kim, Anna Quach, Tammy, and more that I can't think of. But it was great seeing everyone! I also met Fiona Dawn through Andrew and David. Planning on linking up about work in the future. Really good seeing the homies David and Andrew get more known. I've known these dudes longer than anyone else on Youtube and I'm very proud of them. I didn't take any photos of Joe cause it got so dark... LOL I'll post a photo from 6 months ago so the girls have something handsome to look at.. :P subscribe to him, if you haven't! www.youtube.com/hoorahjencar
After the show, we were craving bubble tea cause of David and Andrew's song "Bobalife"... so we hopped over to Mee Sum on the Ave and got some food and bubble tea! We ordered Fried Rice, Popcorn chicken meal, HK Style Milk Tea, Jasmine Milk Tea... it was all pretty good! Mee Sum Pastry 4343 University Way NE Seattle, WA 98105
Sunday is Mother's Day. We planned on having Brazilian cause we went on my mom's birthday and she loved it. She wanted to go again. Stacey and I love Brazilian food! Our favorite is "Fogo De Chao" and they have them all over. Unfortunately, they don't have one in Seattle. BUT, we have an awesome place called "The Grill from Ipanema"... it's located in Belltown and it's SO MUCH better than "Ipanema" (which explains why they closed)... But yeah, I only took one photo cause we were so busy eating! LOL Meat for days! The Grill from Ipanema 2313 1st Ave Seattle, WA 98121
The food was so good. My gf is pretty awesome, she got my mom flowers from Pike Place and they were beautiful!!!!!
Happy Mother's Day to the strongest person I've ever known...
After our meal, I KOed for like 30 minutes... What a power nap! After my nap, I took my sister to the mall to pick out her birthday present. She wanted a Seahawks jersey, so I got her one. I'll upload pics next week. My sister's birthday and my gf's birthday is next weekend! Stacey definitely puts in so much work for us. She's amazing. Here's a pic of us from the Night Market. Hope everyone had a great weekend!
Have a great week everyone!
