You know what fuck it. I’m sick and tired of every Cajun & Creole food that is mentioned being like the same five meals over and over again. Don’t get me wrong. All those meals are deeply good, and I love them with all my heart. But like it’s only those, there’s no respect for all the other in saying crazy food concoctions us folks have come up with

I have a silly question. Do we know if louis' father was a white man who left him an estate and (failing) business? Is that what creole really means- being biracial? I'm south asian and not quite educated in american history.

No, I don't think he was white, though it can probably not be said definitely.

"In Louisiana, the term Creole has been used since 1792 to represent descendants of African or mixed heritage parents as well as children of French and Spanish descent with no racial mixing.[8][9][10] Its use as in the name for languages started from 1879, while as an adjective for languages, its use began around 1748.[11]"

But given the laws in that time, and given Louis says this about his family history

"Capital accrued from plantations of sugar and the blood of men who looked like my great grandfather but did not have his standing."

I would not think so.

But maybe they will get back to that question one day.
