pokespe lance has also proven to be pretty sneaky (and dramatic) about when and how he gets his team involved in fights
SO
it would be really funny if kamina was briefly convinced that his brother’s evil twin just. didn’t have any pokemon with him lol
YEAH LMAO
He busts out his dragonite or something and after the dramatic moment is done you just have Kamina carelessly running up to the dragon Pokemon, just yapping up a storm In Dragon like "HI, IS YOUR NAME DRAGO TOO?? DO Y O U KNOW ME??? WHATS YOUR TRAINERS DEAL DOES HE HATE ME IS HE GOOD--"
I just had a great idea for the Simon tattoo plot bunny :3c
By late midskip, with the human city established (named Sol City in this verse, bc the canon name won't work lol) and proper tattoo studios popping up, not only is Simon thinking of getting some tattoos himself as a bonding activity, he also suggests that Kamina could finally get his design touched up where the scars run through it.
Kamina's accepted his scars by now - they're no longer a painful reminder of all he's lost, but rather visceral proof he survived - but he's always been a little sad about the ink loss and distortion where the scar cuts through his tattoos. For the longest time getting the design repaired never even occured to him. At first he was only focused on healing at all, not on how his tattoos looked around the wound. And by the time the skin had fully closed and scarred over to the point that it'd be safe to tattoo over, Kamina was just used to the messed up look and assumed that was just how it would be from now on. (And even if it did occur to him, he suffered through traditional tattooing for such a large design once, he's not doing it again even for repairs!)
But during Simon's research to prepare of getting his own tattoo, he saw plenty of people getting scar covering tattoos. He didn't know you could do that! But if it's safe to cover up a scar with a tattoo, then repairing an existing design messed up by a scar should be possible to. He's really excited to bring the possibility to Kamina's attention. He wants to do everything he can to help Kamina love his body again, even if it's not the same body he had before. Erasing that sad look Kamina gets when he spots his bare chest in a mirror and carefully runs his fingers over where the lines of his design should be is now Simon's priority mission!
MMMMM NOW IM THINKING ABOUT HOW LOTTIE WOULD FEEL ABOUT HYBRIDS/POSTHUMANS. human and pokemon. he’d probably get along with them better than most other humans (in general), especially if his powers work on them to a degree
(I like to think that A Lot of his distrust for humans was born from his inability to feel another person’s emotions. pokemon feel so much all the time, and humans are just… voids. he’s completely blind to their intentions in a way he never is with pokemon, and that’s Scary)
yeAH in that way Kamina (esp Crimson Dragon) is probably a bit overwhelming. The guy has intense af emotions 😭 But at least he also tends to be direct with what he feels vocally. Unless ofc it's about emotions aimed towards Himself that he doesn't like or that may indicate he isn't feeling fine
I wonder if Lottie would think the whole plagues thing was a good thing For humans even though it was absolutely devastating. Like I know a pre-niceys Lottie would think it was great for decimating the human population and bringing Pokemon into being. But I wonder if any of them would feel like 'no this is a good thing that happened to you, you should be happier this way' about any humans affected
I have a Second sharp question. who’s his friend he’s willing to give up his shield against the cruel world for?
Cosmic, or Percy, who belongs to @hesfromsomewhere :3
I'VE ENDED UP YAPPING BECAUSE THERE'S A L O T TO THEIR BACKGROUND BEFORE SHARP DECIDES TO TAKE DOWN HIS DEFENSES FOR HIM SO UH. READMORE.
This goat form is not the only form he can take, but it's his most common one. He's a being made from chaos energy that hails from the special zone, a zone where all those special stages where you get chaos emeralds are from.
Its a zone that spawns different sort of worlds within it to serve as challenges for anyone that wants to get a chaos emerald whenever they end up in it. And on this one occasion, it formed a Being. And this is where Sharp first met Cosmic, before he was ever "Percy" and before he was ever even "Cosmic". At the time, he was more like energy in the vague shape of a person than anything concrete. Sharp was sent in to try and get a Chaos Emerald, and failed thanks to him. And he was Furious.
On the other end, the "problem" with bringing a Being into the world, is that it's bound to get curious about the world beyond it's containment. Especially now that Another Person passed through. Cosmic held no ill will towards Sharp. He was just doing his job of protecting the Emerald.
But then he got curious. What else is out there? Can he also be out there?
So he breaks containment, essentially. He meets a couple, farmers, and they take him in because well. He's a person. Strange and clearly new and young to the world, but a person all the same. And a person is what he tries to be, through trial and error, loved all the same by the people that are now his adoptive parents.
When Sharp meets him again later on, as part of the resistance and under the code name Cosmic during the Forces plot, he's Furious all over again when he realizes just who, no, What, he is. Even more so when Cosmic mentions parents. Him!?! Parents!?! He isn't even FROM this world!!! He's a FREAK!!! HE'S the one that got people taking him in!?!
He's totally Not bitter about that, what are you talking about? He's Not bitter and the part of his soul that was absolutely Crushed at having to live out on his own Isn't telling him 'See? There was always something wrong with you. Even This guy found a family that loves him.' he's FINE
Sharp doesn't Know Cosmic can shapeshift. He always sees him in his goat form, so he assumes that he looked one way in the special zone, and that he just looks like this now now that he's out of it.
So one day Percy gets a mission. Shapeshift and infiltrate the Eggman base Sharp is at under the guise of also joining up with him. It's not a stretch. The war's been Dire, and it's not a stretch that some people might see Eggman as 'the winning side' and go to join him.
Percy's reluctant but...he also, kind of selfishly, wants to do this just to see what Sharp is like outside the battlefield. Percy doesn't hate him, even with whose side he's on, and all the vile insults he's tossed his way. There's even been a few times where Sharp helped him out, all under the excuse of "YOU helped ME first and I KNOW how this works!! I don't wanna owe you, so now I don't! Now fuck off!!"
There has to be SOMETHING to him, right?
So Percy accepts the mission, and takes the form of a hyena. About Sharp's height, with a sharp toothed grin like him. The world's wronged him too so now he's here, that's the story.
Sharp's hesitant at first but he can't help but get curious about the guy. He'd swear up and down that he's Not lonely, he's Never been lonely. But this Is another person. Not high and mighty like that Infinite guy he's crossed paths with a few times now. Someone that's like him. That doesn't look down on him.
Curiosity and being sent out on missions together brings them closer. Sharp starts to lower his walls. And when Percy realizes that's what's going on, he thinks he's gone too far. Like yeah the goal was always to get close and get intel, but they're Actually getting close as friends. All under pretense, even though Percy isn't pretending about caring. He Can't pretend about something like that.
So he leaves, leaving behind a letter to Sharp where he comes clean about what's been going on, and that he Does care, he really did see him as a friend, but he'll understand if Sharp doesn't believe him.
It's a Very bad time. We have several different AUs that spawn from this point because there were several different (and worse) ways this could've played out.
But, for mainverse- Sharp snaps. Orders an attack on the base Percy is in, that they were only prepared for because Percy told them what he did and they knew there'd be retaliation. Percy is forced to use his powers (because he Does have chaos based powers, he's literally made of the stuff) to destroy the robots Sharp had with him, and to knock him tf out but otherwise have everyone retreat back to the base.
When Sharp wakes up he's Still not ok. He's so desperate to try and enact some sort of revenge that he decides he'll try and infiltrate the base himself. If he weren't seeing red, he would've found the traps around the base (meant for robots) obvious. But he's Enraged and he's Hurting So Bad that he doesn't, and he sets a trap off. He's hurt, Bad because again these traps are meant for robots. Percy takes him into the infirmary against everyone's advice, and convinces them to just. Leave him be. Percy's gonna take care of everything because this is his fault anyway, right? And he Is one of the medics so. He'll take care of it. Everyone just leave Sharp be in the infirmary until he's healed, and Then they'll decide what to do with him.
This is getting too long already but what u need to know is there's a lot of angst here. Lots of Sharp snapping at Percy once he's awake. Lots of "NO. You're making me miss someone that NEVER EVEN EXISTED. You're NOT him. YOU care about the world! YOU had your fucking "meemaw and peepaw" or whatever the FUCK. HE was supposed to be like ME! We were gonna stand against the world together! And he never even existed!!"
Lots of defensiveness and aggression on Sharp's part as he's essentially forced to come to realize that. Yeah. No. The things the letter said were true. The things Percy is saying are true. He does care. Why else would he be kept alive? Why else would Percy keep him safe from everyone else, or save him from dying in the first place? Why even keep him company?
Especially as one night he wakes to voices outside his door. And he hears the voice of a woman he Fears (because she is Ruthless in battle, and Has tried to go for the kill on him on the battlefield before, and has fire based weapons that can hurt him even through his powers) and a woman he knows is supposed to be Percy's superior. She wants in. And Percy is the Only thing that stops her. And to him, with the way he was raised, he's Terrified as it's happening because how can you go against someone that's supposed to be your superior with No consequences?
He tries to pretend to have slept through the talking. And it just confuses him more. Why would someone stand in defense of him like that, when they think he's not even conscious to witness it?
When he's healed enough that Percy Knows the proverbial noose would be tightening around Sharp, he helps him get out of the base undetected. Or rather, he tells Sharp the way he should go because Sharp insists "hell no im not letting you lead me around while I have no idea where I'm going!!". And then promptly gets knocked out with Sharp claiming it's "payback", except no he just doesn't want Percy to get caught helping him run off if they were to get detected.
It isn't long after that that Sharp finds that the old Eggman base just. Isnt the same. All mechanical noises. Emptiness. No people. No Percy. Things he was used to once but now finds bothersome.
So from here on out they start secretly hanging out. Sharp starts out by claiming "You made the base feel wrong. Its noisy but its not the RIGHT type of noisy. So you gotta make it up to me now because you made things weird"
Sharp, who was already getting his walls slowly chipped away at while he was in the infirmary, starts reluctantly, carefully but willingly letting his walls down again. He's making a friend, maybe. Maybe. Better not admit it, because what if things just get messed up again, somehow.
Until one day he comes back to Percy having been captured by Eggman. He's a being made of chaos energy, so he'd make for a perfect battery for his machines. And Sharp thinks, maybe he just needs to keep watch. Pretend he's guarding, ready for Percy's friends to come in just in time and save him. And when they do? He'll just pretend to fuck up, and let them, and everything will be fine.
And then he wakes up to Percy's screams. And decides, fuck it. People are useless and he should've never hoped they'd realize something's gone wrong and get there. But He's here, and he's about to ruin his own life, but it'll be worth it because Percy's gonna be saved.
So he busts Percy out, and Runs, all the while having to dodge and fight back against the robots sent after them. He runs all the way to the resistance base, knowing that Percy Does need their help and he can't provide any beyond what he's already given. He shouts at one of the guards that they're useless before shoving Percy in their arms and running off to divert the attention of the remaining robots.
And then he tries to act like This Is It. There's nowhere for him to go. He never had a home with people, and he's betrayed Eggman. It's back to living out alone in the wilderness for him, probably for good. No more belongings, Again. Just him, the clothes on his back, and his powers.
But then he's restless. Not because he knows Eggman might be on his tail still, but because he doesn't know for sure if Percy made it okay. If the people he left him with could even be trusted with making sure he's okay. If he just...failed him, and didn't get him in time after all.
So he eventually heads back and sneaks around the base, trying to find some kinda hint, or overhear someone talking, Anything that'd tell him that Percy is alive. He does this until he's captured.
And from HERE we have Percy showing up to essentially let him out of a cell without any authorization. Because he's gonna keep Sharp safe.
Sharp has no interest whatsoever in joining the resistance. He doesn't Want to. But Percy is where they are, so that's where he stays. Because he has his friend now, and he plans to stay by him until the day Percy gets tired of him and tells him to leave
He won't. But Sharp has been through so much in life that he figures it's bound to happen one day. But he's willing to kill and die for Percy until that day comes.
on the ‘kamina gets chomped by a gyarados’ incident?
OH ttheres no incident there, its 'The Gyarados Chomp' is just what ive called his wrap around tattoo that goes from his front to the top of his back HVHGBCB
okay so. in the episode i just watched rossiu brings up kamina’s “sacrifice” and. it got me thinking. this isn’t the first time a characters called what happened a sacrifice but like. was it a sacrifice?
no one was expecting kamina to die. sure SOMEONE would almost definitely die, but never kamina, surely. kamina himself wasn’t expecting to be attacked like that, he had wanted to live and see the future – he just realized that his wound was fatal and accepted it, and did what he could with the last of his strength
which is a different type of sacrifice, sure. but not the kind rossiu seemed to be talking about, saying that in some ways, maybe kamina’s death was a “good” thing. by the laws of the universe (/writing) he needed to be the one to die for being simon’s anchor, but his death isn’t what won them the battle. they won because he got back up again, even while on death’s door
wouldn’t it be fun if simon had some grief stricken emotions about everyone calling kaminas death a sacrifice (:
GODDDD i wonder if the people that call it that are saying it because some part of them thought thered be Hope
That if Kamina Hadnt used the last of his strength to push through to ensure victory, that maybe he couldve been saved, maybe there couldve been something, Anything to be done. And that in that way by choosing to push through, he chose to sacrifice himself.
Its probably easier to think about it that way for some. To think that his death was necessary. That it wasnt the sensless death of a young man leading a charge even though he shouldve had his whole life ahead of him. But a sacrifice towards the goal of victory and freedom.
I think for Rossiu it also shows his attempts to be a governmental figure, and his slide towards being unintentionally more like Magin. The lives taken during the war were Sacrifices, there to pave their way towards a better life like what they have now
But then theres Simon. Where no matter whos calling Kaminas death a sacrifice and for what reason, thats still his bro. And everyone is basically saying Kamina was a sacrifice for his sake, when he never asked for it. A sacrifice to make him grit his teeth. A sacrifice to shape him into who he is.
IM FUCKING SORRY KAMINA FUCKING DIES???? NO????? HE DIES????????
WHEN I SAY I AM DISTRAUGHT–
HSHSHSH WELCOME TO HELL IM SORRYYY
