Are you still watching shortland street??? Do you know what's going on between Harper and Phil or is it just totally sidetracked?? I haven't watched in so long so I have no idea 😔

Yes I am still watching, want to see where it all lands with the finale on the 23rd of Dec. The focus is totally off them at the moment, Harper and Drew are separated and Drew asked for a divorce. The two times he saw Harper and Phil talking together in a friendly way that carried the undertone of their attraction he kinda flipped out, leading to him revealing to everyone at a party that Harper and Phil had an affair the first time which had everyone with an opinion and then the next time he saw them talking he tried to commit suicide - which was not strictly related to the affair but also to his broken relationship with bestie Boyd after Boyd lost his son and blamed Drew earlier in the year and that undiagnosed depression he's been having for months. Harper was all about fixing the marriage for the first bit but now she seems to have accepted they're separated so there is that as progress.

Phil and Villi have broken up and Phil is not all that upset about it, she's been more concentrated on being a supportive friend to Drew because despite the cheating, they seem to have gotten past it. Turns out Phil tried to commit suicide seven years ago, so she understands the challenges and has been rallying for Drew.

At this point the story is nowhere near ready for Harper and Phil to have anything again but it's not off the table. Thast said Ria Vandervis, the actress who plays Harper appears to be on holiday at the moment and hasn't worked as far as we know since the finale was filmed where she was on location in the countryside, so Harper may well be MIA or off screen or who knows for the start of next season, so it leaves question marks as to what any possible reunion of the two ladies could look like. The finale will hopefully give us a clue but it's all on ice at the moment and a question mark as to if it will ever thaw, however there have been a couple of brief interactions that to me show that Harper and Phil still have feelings, only Harper, as she has said a few times, her feelings in all this don't matter and is keeping Phil at arms length.

Ok Anon yeah I do. So my hope is that this is Phil's panic response once again (we know she goes for the throat when threatened) but that is is also resolved either in the same conversation or very soon after. Not a fan of them being in conflict given how long this is now dragging out and honestly I want to see them befriend each other.

Phil wasn't wrong when she told Harper she doesn't know her and hasn't wanted to know her. I'd like to see the period as Harper inevitably acknowledges she's outgrown Drew and can't go back to how it was, with Phil & Harper bonding as friends. Inevitably I think they will fall back into each other because pesky real love.

In the mean time hurt people do shit things so I put this down to that and not some epic shift between them. Hopefully this week we see that die very fast.
