If the truly ancient species in your facility are genetically fabricated renditions of the real things, why bother making fake Apatosaurus meat?
Hi phasestab!
All our carnivores do end up eating the meat of modern animals at least at times, but we do indeed grow engineered muscle and bone tissue of extinct animals for some, particularly large theropods. Often this is due to size - for example, a hadrosaur is much larger than a horse, and our Tyrannosaurus love some appropriately-sized bones. Due to the effort required, this doesn’t always constitute all of their diets, and a lot of it also doubles as enrichment. For example, when we grow Apatosaurus tissue for our Allosaurus, we often hang it vertically, offering a simulated sauropod flank to dig into.
Okay between you and me this moment right here is the moment where I've never been happier that we're friends. (Or rather... GHOST!FRIENDS????)
This is the best ask in the entire universe (alternate!universe??????) 6ever
I’M SO EXCITED FOR US TO CONTINUE BEING GHOST?!DREAM?!AU?!FRIENDS TOGETHER ARE YOU READY BECAUSE IT’S HAPPENING RIGHT NOW RIGHT THIS VERY SECOND OKAY ONE TWO THREE—
TMI sunday for 13 more minutes? Uhhh, uhhhh, uhhhh, where was your first kiss?
Woah, I just realized Sunday is almost over! Way to get it in before the deadline! xD
Haha, my first kiss was in an abandoned music room in Cambridge, England, which was a pretty creepy place to have it now that I think about it. Everyone said the place was haunted, there were wolverine-like gouges in the wall, a plunky out-of-tune piano which was said to play creepy songs at night, and a giant broken vase my boyfriend at the time threw at the wall because he thought it’d bounce.
In his defense, it actually did bounce pretty far several times before exploding.
also on a side note i was chilling with Phase today and suddenly remembered characters we came up with 10 years ago (no, really. literally.) and i really want to draw concept sketches because i can't stop thinking about them and it's a thing that you're going to be seeing soon and i'm really excited
Headcanons about Rosies (little girl monsters!) under cut~
Rosies appear as little girls from afar, often with a haze around them until you get closer. They come in pairs and look identical but for the colors of their (otherwise identical) clothes. All Rosies have very straight bangs and long dark hair, round and completely black eyes. They all wear large, oversized bows on top of their heads and often some sort of shirt-and-skirt combo, though some pairs may wear dresses or tunics and skinny pants.
You can tell a Rosie is about to attack by the sudden appearance of yellow irises within their inky black eyes. When Rosies are hungry (which is often) (they feed on people), rose petals float around them on an invisible wind, often moving like oversized tentacles. These petals turn to ash when they feed, and their skin turns from pale grey to yellow. In addition, their bows stand straight up, their hands turn to almost praying-mantis-like claws, and their jaws become impossibly wide and reveal a set of crazy, long, sharp, jagged, gnarly teeth and a fairly bad case of halitosis.
They may lure their victims in by acting hurt, coughing, sneezing, or holding up a bouquet of flowers to their victims as a false peace offering.
Rosies can be found in basements (where they sleep), attics (where they play) and at the end of long hallways (where they feed).
Rosies travel in pairs, as I mentioned, and are very territorial. Should a foreign Rosie pair invade the territory of another, the Rosies will fight until one pair manages to completely consume the other. Of course, since Rosies can never die, they are quickly vomited up again and forced to secede the territory to the victors.
They say that certain cursed wind chimes can announce the Rosies' arrival on the horizon.
