21. Hux x Phasma
21. “No one has a heart of stone”
It was dark in the private quarters of Captain Phasma andshe didn’t bother turning on all the lights upon entering after her long day onthe Finalizer was finished. Afterputting away her weapons in the rack, she proceeded to remove her cape, whichshe hung neatly next to her weapons. Then came her helmet and other pieces ofher chrome armor. Once the armor was completely off, she glanced into themirror, a small smirk appearing on her face when she spotting something in it.
“General.” She stated, turning to look at the man seated inthe dark at the opposite end of the room. “What brings you here?” The man rosefrom his seat.
“I was made aware that during the inspection of the crèche, you tampered with the process of picking out the runts. Care to explainyourself?”
“I know strength when I see it and that babe was powerful;it would be a waste to kill her.” She explained as she went to stand by thewindow, staring out at the countless stars. The General joined her momentslater.
“Or your affection towards your solders was clouding yourjudgement.” He snapped in response, glaring when the woman laughed.
“No one has a heart of stone, Hux.”
“But that is not something that needs to be publicly displayed.”The Captain looked at the man next to her, slowly reaching over and softlybrushing her hand against his.
“And in private?” She inquired, her gaze back to the stars. The General was silent at that question and he didn’t stop staring into theendless void that was space. But after a minute of silence, he intertwined hisfingers with hers.
“Acceptable.”
Haunted (a Phux drabble)
Blood caked strands of his normally immaculate red hair to his forehead as he sat against the cold metal wall. His beautiful uniform coat torn and discarded next to him; one of the sleeves tied around his calf and the other his bicep, both to stop the bleeding caused by the blaster shots. The red that covered his once white tank top and half of his face wasn’t all his, in fact, most of it wasn’t. Several bodies littered the ground around the General of the First Order, but he was greatly out numbered and his blaster only had so much power. The sound of heavy footfalls echoed in the hall and he lifted his gun yet again, not ready to give in just yet, only to lower it the moment the shining armor of Captain Phasma stepped through the door, “It’s about time you decided to show up,” Hux panted with an exhausted smile. “I apologize, sir, but we would have been required to deviate from your schedule even more to be here sooner,” her voice dripping with the same sarcasm as his. The captain stepped over the men on the floor and tried to help him to his feet, but it quickly became apparent he couldn’t walk, so she lifted him up in her arms and began to carry him out of the base, “Captain! This is completely unacceptable! I am perfectly capable of…” he was cut off when the adrenaline began to ebb and the loss of blood made his world go black. —- The next few days were a blur of beeping machines and words his mind couldn’t process. All he could remember when he finally regained full consciousness was a face. Every time his weary green eyes would flutter open slightly he would see her: blue eyes, scarlet lips, and golden hair. She always wore a look of concern, but he didn’t know who she was. Eventually he was released back to his quarters and returned to active duty, still a bit sore, but healed. The face of the woman who watched over him haunting his every thought.
