THE TWO BILLION DOSE PRESCRIPTION MEDICINE (METHYLPHENIDATE) Approved for treatment of ADHD, methylphenidate was first licensed as a prescription medicine in 1955, and has a variety of brand names, including Ritalin, Concerta, and Methylin. It remains one of the most commonly prescribed medicines in the world, with The Pharmaceutical Journal reporting over 2 billion doses taken as recently as 2013.
Whilst it was certainly functional, I found it to be a bit flat, with little recreational edge. Better news was that the aftermath wasn’t too punishing (relatively), although this doesn't apply to heavy or longer term use. Although I was a tad disappointed, its limitations didn't come as too much of a surprise as it was in the ballpark of the non-prescription phenidates I had already sampled (such as HDMP-28 and 4F-MPH).
Note that it comes with some serious potential side effects, so it is extremely important not to overdo it. Be careful and stay safe.
