the fact that nancy and robin were originally supposed to have a ✨special relationship✨ but the duffer brothers cut it out of the final script still baffles me. forget byler not being canon (which still pmo btw, will post a longer rant later) the duffer brothers didn't even have the balls to write a decent lesbian couple.

so it's mentioned in the Cinder book that Kai is almost 19 right? well Cinder would've been 16, almost 17 when they got together.... meaning Kai was a legal adult with a minor :0 i bet the toxic fans would give them so much crap about that honestly....

oh, anon... you've really opened a can of worms with this one 😭 i HAVE thought about this before and actually incorporated it into one of my fics (which unfortunately got deleted with my old acc) but i agree that some netizens would give them A LOT of shit about that in the beginning of their public relationship, specifically the toxic fans and gossip magazines. kai and cinder probably didn't think about it that much because they're too in love and the age gap isn't that big, so they just never really consider it a big deal. i imagine that after they go public with their relationship after the events of Winter, people start putting two-and-two together and realize the unfortunate age gap. it's not a huge deal of course, and most people don't seem to care because they can accept that it's none of their business and the only people who know the ins and outs of their relationship are cinder and kai, and the gossip channels are really the only ones concerned. but they probably really run with it, accusing kai of taking advantage of a minor or even accusing cinder of guilting and manipulating kai into being with her (and of course people start speculating EVEN MORE about their sexual lives, because that's a whole other complicated conversation).

maybe some interviewer brings it up during a conversation and kai's reaction is just so confused because a) it's not even that big of a deal, and b) their intimate relationship is literally no one's business lmao.

but yeah, this is a very interesting scenario! i might rewrite that related fic soon and post it here ;)
