Phil Walnock - The Importance of Staying Active
Phil Walnock is a highly active individual who has accomplished a great deal of success, both as an executive and as a role model in his community. He was born in Allentown, Pennsylvania and grew up in a rural environment in Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania. It was very normal, where he grew up, for kids to play outdoors every day. He still enjoys fishing and riding dirt bikes to s day. Growing up, he was very active in athletics, playing football, basketball, and baseball thru high school. His commitment to athletics was exemplified by his earning the Senior High School Athlete’s award and scholarship money for school spirit and dedication.
He is known as someone who always gives his 100% to any endeavor, no matter what the circumstances.
After high school, he began his higher educational course with his attendance and graduation from East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania, earning his Bachelor of Arts degree. He then studied at Stevens Institute of Technology and there obtained his Master of Science degree in Management. Building on his already successful educational foundation, he enrolled at Lehigh University and earned his Executive Graduate Certificate.
His career started as a cable splicing technician and quickly progressed from there. After two years of success as a cable splicing technician, he moved into management as a foreman. Since then he has completed various large scale projects as an operations manager in construction and held managerial roles in customer services, strategic planning and operations support. In the electric utility industry, he has had successful experiences as a manager, senior manager and leader in vegetation management, contract negotiations and management, strategic initiatives and planning and project management.
Mr. Walnock is not only very active professionally, but also remains involved in many interests outside of work. For many years, he has coached youth and middle school football in his spare time. He enjoys the time he spends coaching youth football, not only because of the physical health that it promotes in young people, but also because of the character building it fosters in young athletes.
