New plants—no; I don’t need them but YOLO, right?! I took a break today to go for a walk and get lunch. At @homedepot, I couldn’t resist these new selections! Clockwise from top left: Philodendron Birkin, Ficus Audrey, Crocodile Fern (Microsorium musifolium ‘Crocydyllus’), and a cute lil’ Stromanthe Triostar. With the exception of the Stromanthe (this new one makes three total), all of these other plants are firsts for me. Monstera _________. 

At work today I was speaking with a colleague about the misidentification of cannabis plants and how common it is. A simple solution to this is a genetic report. There are a few different companies out there, one of them being Phylos Bioscience from Portland. They took a creative and unique approach to connect the people to the data they have collected with their creation of The Galaxy. The Galaxy is an interactive report that shows people a profile of a plant including clonal relationships, closest relatives and population origin. Google them. 

Anyway, during the same day I got into a sperate conversation with someone about the identification of this monstera. I was informed that it was an Obliqua, yet a friend of mine suggested that this is Monstera Adansonii. 

Time to do some research of my own...
