New fic idea
A new ClintCouslon fic came to me between lectures, but I haven’t finished a proper ClintCoulson fic in a while, so idk if I should try to write it down.
Initial Notes/Ideas:
- Inspired by a Reddit post, where a guy pretended to be mute in his apartment block.
- Clint moves to a new apartment block, and accidentally ignores his new floor-mates(?) when he can’t hear them talking to him. One confronts him, and news spreads that he’s deaf and (assumed—) mute, since Clint didn’t explain/apologise verbally.
- Clint decides to let his floor-mates believe he’s mute, so he doesn’t have to make small talk. They post him notes when something important is happening, and generally are good/kind floor-mates.
- Clint realises how convenient being mute is, and decides to be mute everywhere.
- When Phil moves to the floor (on an undercover mission), Phil is told Clint is deaf/mute, so he introduces himself in sign. Clint is shocked, since no one has signed to him in years, and signs back.
- As Clint and Phil become friends, Clint, as the bounty-hunter/assassin Hawkeye, is being stalked by a faceless S.H.I.E.L.D agent, who just happens to be his new neighbour.
- Phil doesn’t put together that Clint being an archer means that he’s Hawkeye, until he sees Clint’s scrapbook with all his circus memories (posters, polaroids, pamphlets etc), and Clint is labeled ‘Hawkeye: The World’s Greatest Marksman’. He then has to decide whether to turn him in or not — this is not an easy decision, since the two are mutually falling for each other, and Phil genuinely enjoys having Clint in his life.
