OF ALL THE THINGS ROSALIE had ever done , this might very well be the first time she felt truly nervous . insecure , scared . liam wasn't scary , except for maybe when he was angry but still , he was more than that . he was her brother and while the princess liked to believe herself and seth to be a matching set , one of those ' frequently bought together , do not separate ' type of deal , it didn't mean she loved her oldest brother any less . it didn't mean there hadn't been something missing in her life for the past year , or that she didn't find herself regretting their fight . being the first one to budge wasn't easy , it dented her pride and made rosalie feel small but still , it'd be worth it . she wanted to believe so at least .

peeking into the reading room , she quickly found her brother immersed in some book that , in rosalie's opinion , must've been quite boring . but as it happened with many things , chances were she was judging by it's cover ; much like she'd judged liam's actions without properly listening to him . with a medium sized bouquet of pink roses , white orchids & blue hyacinths , a flower crown , a box full of homemade cookies and a white , blue and orange envelope in hand , she quietly made her way inside , staying as quiet as humanly possible until she reached him .

❛ i ... can we talk ? ❜ she questioned , her voice small and unsure . of course there was a possibility he'd say no , but rosalie really hoped with all her heart that he wouldn't . ❛ if not now , then maybe after you're done reading ? um , ❜ her gaze wanders for a bit , darting all around the room before setting on liam again . ❛ i uh , made you a bouquet ! and this , ❜ she raises both the bouquet and the crown , waving them lightly in her hand . ❛ i picked sunflowers for your crown ; maman always said you're our sun . ❜

SHE WASN’T ALWAYS THIS QUIET , especially around him . most of the time , aurora was nothing but smiles & sunshine around her beloved husband , yet she didn’t know how else to act at a time like this . to force the joy she couldn’t find in her heart would be the same ; it would be a lie , and she’d never lie to him . not if her life depended on it .

as she gave his hand a small , gentle squeeze , the princess lightly kicked a small pebble that lied in her way as they walked . it was probably a piece of the rubble surrounding ever corner of elias these days . ❝ there’s something i need to ask of you , mon coeur . ❞ she began , brows furrowing together as the blonde searched for the right words to say . auora knew it was a tall favor to ask , by who else could she trust with this ? ❝ you can fight , can’t you ? i ... i need you to teach me , ❞ her voice was calm , gentle , yet there was a clear touch of determination in it . maybe even a little bit of desperation , too . ❝ i know the circumstances are less than ideal , but i learn fast and i’ll practice every day ! ❞

BEING AN EARLY BIRD , aurora valued a good night’s sleep more than many people did . the fairies raised her as an early to bed , early to rise kind of person , which she gratelly appreciated . while others valued colorful sunsets , aurora found beauty in the sunrise , & how to sky slowly changed into light , bright colors . this morning , however , was a peculiar one .

upon feeling the sunlight kiss her cheeks , greeting her into another day , the princess shifted in bed as an attempt to hide from it . she was absolutely exhausted , which meant it couldn’t be morning --- right ? ❝ philip ? ❞ aurora called quietly , the exceedingly mellow tone in her voice making it clear that the blonde wasn’t quite awake . in fact , she couldn’t recall the last time she felt this tired . it was a good thing that philip was here . ❝ love , the lights ... ❞ she holds back a yawn , ❝ you shouldn’t stay up so late ... ❞

❛ I GOT YOU SOMETHING and you can't say no~ ❜ aurora announced in a sing - song voice , skipping her way in after closing the front door . although her new job at the flower shop was exciting and an excellent distraction , it was also very tiring , even more so considering how fatigued she felt most of the time . while the princess knew it must have to do with losing part of her light , she also knew there were more important things than letting such a little hiccup show : philip , for example. he was the most important thing . ❛ for you , ❜ she brings forward the bouquet of tulips she'd been hiding behind her back , a bright smile on rosy lips . ❛ i thought i should be the one giving you flowers for a change ... ❜

❛ GOOD MORNING PAPA ! may i just say you look absolutely dashing today , truly charming ! ❜ believe it or not , the cheerfulness in rosalie's voice wasn't even the tiniest bit forced . if anyone asked , she'd tell them she loved both her parents equally and while it wasn't a lie , it was also true that she'd always been closest with philip . perhaps that's why she'd been feeling guilty for quite some time now , for a number of reasons but mainly for the family's weird situation for the past year . ❛ don't tell maman , but i heard her gushing about you to her friends the other day ! gray hairs really do suit you ! ❜ a pause , eyes becoming wide at the realization of what she had implied . ❛ that's not to say you're getting old or anything ! not at all , my father is as strong as a horse ! um , ❜ hands clasp together behind her back , lips pressed together in embarrassment . maybe there was a reason why flowers don't speak . ❛ a - anyway , i need your advice . it's about , uh , it's about william . ❜ gaze lowers a bit , almost as if she was trying to hide . ❛ i ... i suppose i sort of , in a way , don't not miss him ... just a little bit ... ❜
