CCP gang selfie

Posing with the staff of the CCP Visual Arts Department during the opening night of my Philippine Centennial exhibit (1898-1998), at the CCP (Cultural Center of the Philippines), in Pasay City.

I became friends with the CCP Visual Arts Department staff a few years earlier, during a weekend long workshop in National Arts Center in the middle of Mount Makiling in the Municipality of Los Baños, Province of Laguna. And I am in contact with some of them to-this-day.

This photo was taken during the directorship term of another friend, Sid Gomez Hildawa (1962-2008), who had stirred the helm of the CCP Visuals Arts Department until his untimely passing.

Finally went to this cafe gallery named Talimbaw Cafe. I found that there were plenty of sculptures done by the owner of the cafe. I love his works where he carves faces of people. I have an obsession with faces and so it was natural for me to be drawn to sculptures of faces like this one. He looks so calm.
