"none of the characters should be taken to closely resemble any kea, living or dead." I can't give you the full lead-up to this bc it's an entire page and the way archive.org fills my search history if i don't use incognito annoys me to no end, but the short version is that it's an explanation that the story is passed down through oral storytelling and thus the memory has likely become distorted, and thus while rooted in fact the story itself is not wholly factual. It's really clever when you read it
