Phillip Gallant used Illustrator Draw to create the pictured from a Teen Titans Go! animation still. It has been a goal of Phillip Gallant’s to grow as an illustrator, particularly with regards to shadows, or shadowing, or whatever the most appropriate term is for drawing shadows on an illustration. Phillip Gallant feels the art on picture books by Phillip Gallant could benefit from a wider range of ability, and exercises like the one pictured/demonstrated are important to that growth.

Recreating Kevin had occupied some of Phillip Gallant’s time this evening. The first effort, pictured here in GIF form, had been “drawn” by Phillip Gallant and is nothing to be proud of. Though it demonstrates the author’s thinking and intentions, a more tidy and “representational” version of the character is desired by the author. The story of Kevin is intended to be adapted to a proper picture book for Amazon KDP at some point in the future.
