My entry point into my deep stan-dom of @pharrell & @chadhugo. bout 7 years later : me: Pharrell Im a huge fan man I bought Phillys Most wanted album cause of yall! Pharrell: *Pauses for a sec* “Thx man”. - My (first) Pharrell story lol. “Cross The Border” was catchy but it was “Please Dont Mind” that had me checking for this album. I went on to Amazon.com (In 2001 you could preview CDs online, lol) and i heard Neptune Track after Neptune track and they all sounded like MJ mixed with heaven. Lol. i spend allowance money at FYE (who remembers that store?) on this album just to hear these beats and hooks on demand. Gallery 38 is proud to present "Super Outta Pocket" an exhibition on relationships and language by Al-Baseer Holly (@theartofalbaseer) July 21st through August 7th, with an Opening Reception on Saturday July 23rd. Philadelphia born contemporary artist Al-Baseer Holly recently transitioned from being a full time musician to focusing on the aesthetics of art, using that canvas as a visual recording of emotional storytelling. His work is created from nostalgic scenes of his adolescence which he refers to as “Childhood Access Memories”. Recreating these moments gives him the ability and opportunity to relive and re-invent the instances that have influenced his growth as an overall artist. Musically influenced, his painted canvases aptly named “Bars”, derive from traditional formatting of vocal instrumentation, allowing him to consistently create a visual song that excites viewers. Al-Baseer’s work consists of a bold subtlety that presents a formal interpretation of his message. His new series of works on paper titled “Super Outta Pocket” introduces the viewer to a look at how language plays it role in today’s relationships.
