🔥... Star Wars TROS?
Lol, I don’t know if this is an unpopular opinion with EVERYONE but--
I see a lot of people being like “the only good thing about that movie is that we got TRIO RIGHTS” and I think that’s ri-fucking-diculous.
Rey had basically no real interest in interacting with Poe and Finn for most of that movie. What, they had a group hug at the end? Okay. She spent most of her screentime either angsting about her stupid familial reveal or being like “I NEED TO RIDE KYLO REN’S DICK I MEAN KILL KYLO REN”. She made some vague verbal attempts to keep Finn from following her, and then she’d do something stupid and they’d inevitably follow her and almost die and it was DUMB.
I feel as if the biggest issue with Finn and Rey’s relationship is that it falls into the racist stereotype of a black man chasing a white woman and getting crumbs in return. This movie exemplified that, and it made it worse because he had a woman (a woman of color) who’d paid him attention, given him affection, and proved to be quite compatible with him and encouraged his growth, who was essentially cut from the series.
And Poe and Rey... Lol. Poe hated that girl.
The trio was always a fiction used for nostalgia marketing. I appreciated that TLJ gave them separate arcs, and they ALL grew. I would rather that than a fake trio that abandoned Poe and Finn’s development in favor of kissing Rey’s ass, and doing some vague visual fanservice.

Borgia or.... The Tudors?
Oh my... this is difficult... The Tudors will forever be my favorite period drama, it’s what got me into Tudor history (and where I discovered my would-be favorite actor) and the reason why I decided to become fluent in English...
But Borgia was also so good, and it got me into that very specific period of history, and the show and cast and costumes were just so good...
It’s hard to pick, but I guess The Tudors will always come out on top <3

Yeah, it was announced a while back, it's starting with a young Julius Caesar.
I’m so nervous for the characterization of Livia.

The trio thing was always… at the end of TLJ, Rose had a legit connection with Finn and more of a connection with Poe than Rey did. So this weird idea that the trio was the main relationship… if they had been a group of four instead a trio, would it really have been so bad? The framing of rose as a “distraction” is so weird.
EXACTLY. If anything, Rose, Poe, and Finn were definitely more of a trio than Rey, Finn, and Poe. I would have much rather had a group vs. a trio, though there definitely would have been work that needed to be done to make Rey come off as less self-centered.
philomaela replied to your post “Remember when JJ Abrams cast Benedict Cumberbatch as Khan and then...”
"Rose is abusive" is fascinating to me... because their initial meeting is actually very similar to Rey and Finn's initial meeting.
Y e s
To me, the idea that Rose was abusive to Finn was just a way for people to hate on her while trying to act like they weren’t the same as those who hated on Rose AND Kelly. When in reality... you don’t have to stan Rose, but that kind of OTT hyper-reaction just fed into the people who bullied Kelly off the net.
