You may be right, and I may be right. According to our perspective, at least. But... that begs the question. Where does common ground lie? It doesnt. Common ground does not lie, it runs. Our morals are manic and make no sense, but they make sense to us because we were simply taught that way. The Bible is a book. That's it, simply a book. It is our belief in such book that makes it a powerful object. Our flag. It is a flag, a piece of cloth. We hold respect for this piece of cloth because the collective belief and symbolism of humanity we put on it. If we were to take a small child with no memories and throw them into a world with nothing but the necessities to living, what would our basic instinct turn into? Give the child a bible and it will use it as fuel for his fire. Give them the American flag, they will use it for shelter. Morals are man made. So is time, and emotion, and our gods and martyrs. We made our gods to give explanation for the unexplained, so what will happen when there is no more to explain? Our gods would be meaningless and we would have a mess. Humanity is a hallucinatory drug. Without it, we would simply be one with the wolves. We would be carnal, instinctual animals, which sounds bad, but is it really? Animals seemingly can not develop mental illness. Is our Humanity the cause of all this? Mind over matter? With animals it is always body over mind. Instinct, not thought. Why do we preach Mind over Matter when that simply causes more problems. What if we were to be reduced to a disgusting mess of animals who ran only on instinct. Would we see the truth then? Would we see what our meaningless creations have destroyed? The world is always searching for an answer. An answer to the simple question. "Why?" Or "What is the meaning of life?" Have we ever stopped to consider that maybe the answer is right there? We're selfish. We use that question in reference to human life, not animal life. What we don't realize is that our meaning is more mundane than most might be comfortable with. Bees, for example. Their purpose is too pollinate. Without them the earth dies. Some animals are here to just reproduce and create a balance. And then theres Spiders. Their purpose is to eat the pests with no meaning. But then- that means there have been some slip ups where certain things do not have meaning. Pests do nothing but destroy the earth. So are we here to create life? Because it seems like we are destroying it. We're ruining nature. We're not doing enough to help the earth. We are classified as pests. And if we're pests? Who are the Spiders?
