Is there anything morally problematic with recreational drug use?

Depends on the drug, self-destruction, if it harms you

Depends on the user, whether they deem it good, bad, or neutral for themselves

Drugs divert from being progressive and productive versions of ourselves

If a use of the drug is productive and progressive, then it is moral

If it is illegal, then you are putting others at risk, yourself, and your life's goals

Drugs affect us differently, non-productivity ≠ immoral

Social conventions should not decide morality

Can I be moral without being religious or is lack of religion immoral itself?

Ignorance is innocence - accidentally non-religious

Yes, morality is natural

Religion can guide or our morality, but morality is independent of religion

What is the purpose of scientific research?

to advance our understanding of how the universe works

to critique what we currently know

to prove or disprove certain arguments

to provide knowledge in the form of evidence to support a theory

to apply science to technology

to know the truth of the physical world

to satisfy human curiosity

Can we prove the existence of god?

No, religion is based on the validity of personal experience

Yes, if someone is willing to subscribe to the validity of personal experience

Yes, if I define "god" in such a way as to mathc up to something that is already proven to be true

No, if it was scientifically provable, it would have been proven by now

Yes, based on the unity and necessity of the universe
