PhlPost Problems: Explained
Disclaimer: This is based on my own knowledge as an employee of Quezon Capitol Post Office (Lucena City, Quezon). Take note that I have no prior information on what other post offices do, I just want to clear some minds and explain a thing or two on what really happens to our mail and parcels. Phlpost has been on the bad side of SOME of the filipinos, mainly the filipinos who are on social media and those who watch the news. Well, here's the thing: the media doesn't really post or air the good things that Phlpost does, so give us some credit. We have a lot of satisfied customers that most of the filipinos are not aware of. But what are the filipinos really hate about Phlpost? These are: 1. Delayed mails/parcels Trust me on this... We attempt deliveries the day after we receive mail and parcels. Why the day after? Why not on the same day itself? Well, we have mail schedules. On our post office's case, we receive our mail on 10am and 2pm from our dispatch centers. It would cause a delay if the letter carriers would wait for the mails because we have a process: encoding, checking, sorting, recording. It takes time. Plus, next day delivery isn' that bad. If we attempt deliveries the next day, why are there still undelivered mail and parcels? The answer is simple: Incomplete addresses and lack of information (e.g. Contact numbers) A lot of mail that I receive have incomplete addresses, it's not our fault that the mail couldn' be delivered. We deliver some incomplete addresses if the brgy halls know the addressee though. Contact numbers are a huge deal too. This is one of the reasons how LBC delivers a lot of your parcels. So if you're planning on mailing something, don't forget the addressee's contact number, PLEASE. Some parcels, especially those that are from other countries, take time at the bureau of customs so don't put all of the blame on us. We're also waiting for your parcels to arrive, we have no power over that. 2. Taxes on parcels This is simple. Phlpost doesn't declare the taxes, bureau of customs does. We are only the collecting and delivery agent, not the appraisers. Know the difference before you react. 😊 3. Parcels that you have to pick up Remember that our letter carriers ride motorcycles for a reason: for faster delivery on the streets (avoids heavy traffic) If your parcels are too big or heavy for them to deliver, kindly understand our letter carriers. Even the private couriers ride motorcycles. Some of our clients also prefer picking up their mail or parcels ☺️ Let's appreciate receiving notices guys. 4. Returned mail/parcels Please be informed that offices have their own policies. Mails and parcels have 3 attempts of delivery. If we fail on the delivery part, returning the mail to the sender is the next step. As for our post office, we wait for a month or two to avoid angry addresees. At least we waited for them to at least place an inquiry before returning your mail. To avoid this, don't hesitate on asking your city or municipality's post office. We don't bite 😊 5. Missing parcels/items on your parcels We don't inspect parcels from other countries, we receive and deliver it. Gets? Again, don't put all of the blame on us. 6. Manual process Phlpost is slowly going through the process of modernization, so we need your patience and support. Let's be grateful that we have a working tracking and encoding system 😊 At least, we're doing something. As for our post office, we encode our received parcels and ids for faster inquiries. THINGS TO REMEMBER: 1. If you'e expecting something, don't hesistate on asking the post offices within your area. This is better than asking through social media. Cmon people, let's not take chances on the internet. Kilos kilos din. 2. For faster answers to inquiries, give us complete details like: A. Service availed (ordinary, registered, express) B. Date of mailing C. Addressee and address of the addressee D. Origin of the mail E. For registered and express mails: tracking number TRACKING NUMBERS ARE VERY IMPORTANT 3. Be patient and understand the process ☺️ Thank you! I love my job so, yeah, here you go. Repost to save lives. Lol
