I've always looked sideways at the way twi'lek/human hybrids have been presented, especially because for so long in the old EU that it wasnt possible. I've always figured that, in the new canon, due to the pretty massive difference in anatomy(ear cones/lekku/possible different internal organ placement) is that as soon as you find out you're pregnant, you need to get to your doctor right away for gene therapy for the baby to reduce/eliminate any problems that could show.

I think sw canon has also been quite vague at establishing what races are ‘real aliens’ and what ones are ‘offshoots of humans’ but I always understood it Twileks were like ‘actual aliens’
Like Mirialans, Miralukas and Chiss were classes as ‘near humans’ and theoretically able to crossbreed? And maybe Sith Purebloods?
