revising "outfall" and doing a final readthrough before i'm considering the third draft done - i swear i only did some minor changes + tried to remove redundant phrases but tell me why it jumped 5-6k??? how did that happen???

planning a new wip borrowing ideas from a bunch of archived wips.. feeling like i'm creating frankenstein's monster..... glad to at least be putting them to good use :'-)
somehow it did not occur to me that i could combine my current concept obsession with my current wip. like. i'm not tied down to any ideas, i can change things however i want? really? that's wild
(with that being said i'm changing the location for TBOD lol)
thinking about one of my super old/abandoned wips and.. it's hitting especially hard rn for some reason. i was planning to work on another wip next month but.... 👁👁 idk i'd need to rework it a lot but who knows what the future holds.....
may writing update!
april was a vaguely productive month (meant to get through first draft of tbod, instead made outlines for 2 entirely new wips lol)
HOWEVER. this is the month where i have a specific goal - finishing my third draft of outfall! i'm mainly focusing on addressing my alpha reader's feedback and tightening it up (less filler words) but we'll see how things go after the next few rereads!
i will say. i'm so so grateful for my alpha reader bc the edits are so helpful and the commentary makes going through the doc such a joy. i think w/o them this would feel a lot more like slogging through mud but instead i'm like :-D i wonder what they have to say about this next part! :-D
for june i'll probably finish up any edits to the third draft and then look for beta readers (!!! such a daunting idea to me), and probably work on a draft for another wip (either second draft for an older wip or first draft for either of the 2 that i outlined last month)
exciting time!! we'll see how things go :o)
i don't think i'm capable of writing actual romantic relationships ngl... could prob pull off some good confessions but i can't write a kiss scene to save my life
SCREAMMM just realized current wip would be even sexier if i made it exes to lovers. i did a similar dynamic in an archived wip except that was ex-best friends to heavily implied lovers soooo this will be that but much more delicious. EXCITING!
just realized mc's name in the new wip has a suspiciously similar sounding name to the mc in my last wip. HUFF. gonna go look up new name options i guess
