So glad I was able to be on the lineup of the @vallummag Issue 15:1 launch and got to spend some time with Phoebe Wang, author of ‘Admission Requirements’ (McClelland & Stewart @penguinrandomhouse). Enjoying Andrew Forbes' The Utility of Boredom, a book of baseball essays, after Thursday's Invisible Publishing launch. Brent van Staalduinen launched his debut novel, Saints, Unexpected, at the same event. The two authors joked about their shared Ottawa experiences - both once worked at, and were fired from, the same CD Warehouse, by the same manager (but not at the same time). Also reading at the event was poet Phoebe Wang, whose chapbook is coming soon from Invisible's poetry counterpart, The Emergency Response Unit.
