@phoenicishawkking ❤ ‘d for a starter!
This possibly wasn’t good.
As far as he had been aware, he hadn’t crossed into bird tribes territory- though he had been close to the border, and it was not as if he had been around to pay attention to the shifting tides of who owned what square foot of land exactly. Maybe he had then, or perhaps it was mere coincidence that this particular hawk (still so recognizable even after it being years since Soren had last seen him) so happened to be in this particular area at the same time as the mage. He’d long since learned the world worked in mysterious (oft times cruel) ways, he hoped this was such a time fate was feeling merciful.
Ever untrusting, even with the growth he had gone through over the years (emotionally, mentally; he had barely grown physically at all save for his hair getting longer), he remained on edge with his fingers tightly gripping the straps of his travel bag while watching the mighty hawk’s descent from the skies. This was fine. Nothing to worry about. Easy enough to tell himself, but when once more faced with the towering form of the Hawk King it was a little more difficult to actually believe.
Despite everything he had gone through, the leaps and bounds he had made in letting go of previous hatred, he still could not help but feel at least a little apprehensive around laguz- especially when he was on his own. At least it was no longer due to the aforementioned hatred, mere lingering fears and deep-rooted traumas that refused to unhook their claws from him. “King Tibarn... It’s been some time since last we met, hasn’t it?”
