Eventually, when I’m able to sponsor a performance by the Phoenix symphony, I’ll swagger onto the stage in my knee length red and black knit sparkly dress (it’s a mock turtleneck neckline and long sleeves)

I plan to address the audience with: “ladies, gentlemen, distinguished guests – thank you all for your patronage of the performing arts”

Aside from the fact that I’m literally nonbinary (and the fact that I have literally no respect for “guys, gals, and nonbinary pals” because I prefer not to infantilize my nonbinary comrades), I prefer more formal-like language when the situation dictates it
