Yes of course I'm bawling my eyes out to Supernatural Season 15 Episode 03
MOSTLY Sam and Rowena. but also Dean and Castiel.
(yes I'm still watching it after all these years. I have watched this show all the way through the 15 seasons at least 4 times but probably more, I lost count. This is literally my favorite show)
Scientifically, Marsh Marigolds are known as Caltha palustris, meaning "golden flower of the marsh". Marsh Marigolds are in the Buttercup (Ranunculaceae) family.
They grow in marshes, wetlands, wet woods, wet meadows, swamps, bogs, fens, stream margins, and ditches.
Marsh Marigolds are also commonly called King Cups, Cowflock, Cow lily, and Cowslip. Other folk names include: Crazy Beth, horse blob, May blob, soldier's buttons, publicans-and-sinner, publican's cloak, and Water Gowan. [note: Gowan is another term for daisies; or any yellow or white field flowers]
In Gaelic, the flower is known as Lus bhuidhe bealtuinn, meaning "the yellow plant of Beltane" as this flower is associated as being a harbinger of spring and its traditional association with Beltane (also spelled Bealtaine).
Beltane is a Gaelic pagan celebration that takes place May 1st or half way between the Vernal Equinox and the Summer Solstice. This is the Gaelic festival of May Day connected to Ireland, Scotland, and The Isle of Man.
Marsh Marigolds are traditionally linked to May Day, and still have modern associations with this holiday. May Day, celebrated May 1st, is a general name for these pagan celebrations and traditions across Europe. May Day is also often a more modern celebration of these ancient traditions, including modern elements of recognizing laborers.
Internationally, May 1st is known as International Workers' Day, and is recognized and celebrated in over 160 countries.
*** The US doesn't recognize May 1st as International Worker's Day, but recognizes and celebrates Labor Day in September.

phoenix's note: I only just recently started learning about Marsh Marigolds because I see them so much in my personal nature experiences, so if you have studied Marsh Marigolds thoroughly feel free to let me know if there are any corrections that need made. Or if I misrepresented Beltane or May Day in anyway please also let me know!
