In A Dream - Phoenix’s Cut

synopsis: Phoenix’s words throughout the showing of NCT Dream The Dream Show: In A Dream The Movie

HER OPENING WORDS TO THE FANS

“Are we really doing this? Wah... A whole movie dedicated to the Dreamies for Dreamzens. I think my first thought was, are they crazy? We can appear really different to how the fans see us but I hope through this they can feel closer to us and understand us a little bit better” 

Nodding to herself, she ran her hands over her dress to smooth it out, the white a striking contrast to her normal fashion when promoting. Thinking for a moment, Phoenix paused as she tried to come up with her next words,

“My hope, for us doing this concert or these concerts really, is that I just want us to be able to finish proudly. We haven’t stood on a stage as a team in front of fans for such a long time I think it will be really hard for us. I want them (the members) to be walking off stage and be happy because they did well and are healthy”

PHOENIX AND JENO

Her laughter was what was heard first, the scene cut from Jeno and Jaemin calling him stupid to her sitting in front of the camera. 

“Jeno, he is really like the kind of friend you don’t know you needed. He holds a lot of strength in the team, but he’s very confusing. Did he tell you that the cutout on his shirt was his idea? When I saw it for the first time... But he helps us a lot, and he’s always so playful he really is our pup”

Somin was trying to stretch her legs as the stood on the stage, the poor girl having to do the rehearsal in heels for the first time was proving to be more tiresome than what she first thought it would be for herself. As they began to take a break, most of the members moved behind the stage to escape the burning sun and heat for a little while but she stayed put,  “Are you coming?” Shaking her head she looked down, “I feel like my legs are jelly already and we aren’t even properly dancing yet...” Nodding Jeno walked over to her and bent down, “Up you go, we don’t need you burning out from this sun before we start” She climbed onto his back wordlessly as the camera captured the two heading off screen.

PHOENIX AND CHENLE

Somin was half hidden behind Chenle as he was playing around with Jisung, the girl fiddled with his mic pack before tapping his side and passing it to him. Grabbing her own mic from his hands she patted him as the two separated to their spots in the line up. 

“Chenle used to be my baby before he grew up. I think it took me a bit of time to realise that he didn’t need me to look after him all the time and I couldn’t hold onto him as tightly. He is very caring to anyone around him, even strangers. I don’t tell him I love him verbally as much anymore because I think it makes him embarrassed now but I do”

PHOENIX AND JAEMIN

“The easiest way to describe my Nana? He’s like my fairytale love honestly. He’s so different and he listens to absolutely everything I say and pays attention to all the little things. Sometimes life just gets too much and he helps me find things that make sense” 

Phoenix waved Jaemin over to her as she was getting ready to do the air lift jump, he smiled as she held her arms open. The taller male wrapping his arms around her as they watched and waited for her turn. He had already tried it and it was fun but nervewracking at the same time. His eyebrow however, lifted at the girl as she traced her fingers over his biceps,  “You good there pretty girl?” “Mmmh, when did your arms get so big?” “Checking me out?” “No just appreciating” She smiled up at him as her name was called, “Catch me when I fall?” “Of course"

PHOENIX AND JISUNG

“Jisungie... Jisungie worries me. I think that I worry about him almost more than I do about Haechan. I wasn’t someone who babied him a lot but he’s still our baby you know? Everytime I see him though, I’m always wanting to tell him how proud I am of him. But he asks so many weird questions about life I get a headache sometimes”

Jisung suddenly sat next to her as they were in the hall practicing their markings for the show, the older turned in slight confusion as he made himself small on her lap. His legs bent as he curled into her stomach. Immediately her hands fell into his hair as she soothed and separated any knots that had formed from practicing.  “Noona?” “Yeah?” “Do you think I’ll do good out there?” Her hands stilled as she looked down, his eyes were closed but the crinkle formed between his brows and his breathing was unsettled,  “Ji, you could walk off that stage absolutely hating your performance and I wouldn’t lie to you when I’d say you were amazing if not perfect. I have all the faith in the world that you are going to do more than good.” “Thanks...” “You’re very welcome, how about we just stay here for a little bit? Noona will wake you up when we get started again”

PHOENIX AND RENJUN

Renjun lay in the clear box as they rehearsed Quiet Down, the girl casually walking over and laying on top facing in as he ran through the steps,  “Can I help you?” “You ignored me last night when we were meant to sit and read” “I was busy” “Doing what?” “Laying in bed,” Sighing the girl tapped the box to get his attention as she sat in front, “Tonight, we are eating together and painting. I don’t care for how long or what but you need to let your brain shut down a little otherwise you’re going to keep overthinking and then you’ll be mad when you mess up. And use your legs less and hips more when you do the moves so it flows better”

Smiling, Phoenix shook her head as she thought of the best way to describe Renjun, “Renjun holds a lot of power in the team. Everyone wants his attention and to protect him. He’s very soft and sincere - I wouldn’t say innocent. He talks about lifes possibilities a lot and he puts too much pressure on himself so I hope in future he loves himself most and cares about himself most.”

PHOENIX AND MARK

Their voices constantly kept overshadowing one another as they talked with the team, the rest of the member stood idle as they discussed things. Mark and Phoenix had began to grow more frustrated with each other to where their tone was getting harsher and short. Eventually the two were pulled away from each other to cool down before they picked back up again. As they sat in silence avoiding each others presence, Mark let out a defeated sigh, noting how he hadn’t seen her eat anything the entire time they had been in the hall. Grabbing a few things, he came to sit next to her on the floor,  “I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have snapped and I really do appreciate your input Som” Nodding the girl took the water bottle he had opened, “I’m worried about you. Mark you’re not resting, both you and Hyuck are so busy that neither of you eat proper meals and now look at us,” “I know,” “Do you? I want you to be healthy and I want you to understand that us having this amazing concert doesn’t mean we have to jeopardize your health. Let us help you with carrying the stress, we’re a team” “You always look out for me Som, love you okay” “Someone has to, half the time it’s like there isn’t a thought behind those boba eyes of yours” 

“Mark, he’s so precious. He’s the oldest but he’s like a baby. His mind is everywhere and thoughts are nowhere to be found sometimes, but he is the reason why we’re still here. Mark is our home, and we make sure to take care of him because without him we aren’t okay”

PHOENIX AND HAECHAN

“Haechannie, he is my comfort. Whenever he comes back after being away it’s like, ah okay everything makes sense again. He keeps us happy and always makes sure we feel energised. My favourite thing about him is probably his smile? Just seeing him truly happy makes me feel better”

Somin was walking around the stage as she watched the crew prepare for tomorrow’s concert, her eyes catching Haechan being projected onto the screen. Pulling out her phone she took a photo of him, turning to locate where he was before rushing over as she heard his laughter echo out from his mic. Standing back slightly she kept taking photos, now of the boy right in front of her. He wasn’t blind to the camera going off but he shrugged it off until he was lifting a brow in her direction as his conversation ended,  “Trying to fill up your storage?” Shaking her head she simply sat in front of him, “Smile” Rolling his eyes he obliged, regardless of how confused he was. “Seriously though what’s up with you?” “You look happy,” “Okay?” “I don’t know it’s just, you just, I don’t know how to say it but looking at you right now? I want to keep this photo of your smile with me forever you know” Nodding, he slipped down to sit in front, turning slightly and pulling out his own phone, “Smile Som” 

SOMIN’S INTRODUCTION

I think the best way to describe me is the calming voice of our family, I am your Neo girl Phoenix

DREAM’S WORDS ABOUT SOMIN

Chenle shook his head, “Phoenix is the best kind of crazy. She is so fierce in everything she does it can be overwhelming. But everything she does it’s always for other people so I hope she can allow us to look after her more” Nodding he wrung out his hands. 

“My little love. I think she always fights to prove herself even when she doesn’t have to and she’s not afraid to love and that’s my favourite thing about her” Jaemin smiled as he spoke, looking down a little as his hand rubbed the back of his neck, “She’s always our biggest fan and she’s very vocal”

Jeno shook his head no, “She is the most powerful member in NCT, not even just in our team. Her mind is always ten steps ahead and she’s so smart everyone ends up just following what she says. She can be scary too which is funny” 

“Noona, she worries about us a lot. Even though we’re all so close in age she always took responsibility for everything. If anything went wrong or if one of us got in trouble she always took the heat and protected us. So I always want to protect her now” 

“Phoenix really matches her name well, she’s a rare kind of person to come across and it never mattered what was thrown at her back then or even now but she always comes back stronger than ever” Renjun fiddled with his ring, “She makes you want to fight to be better than you were and always makes sure that you’re loved”

“Som is I think my best friend, honestly. Honestly Somin is like my number one.” Mark crossed his arms as he tried searching for the words, “We are really similar but super different at the same time and she’s honestly just so cute. Yeah she’s mine” 

Haechan laughed as he thought about how to describe her, “Phoenix is unlike anyone I have ever met before. She is very quiet but super loud and she’s so smart. I think if we didn’t have her we probably wouldn’t be as good of a team. She helps bring out the best in us”

SOMIN’S LETTER

Her hands were shy to open the note, Jaemin rubbing her arm slightly as she opened it and took a breath, 

I was always worried about the person that I would grow up to be, but I feel like growing up and having someone like Phoenix unnie was what helped me become a better version of myself. I don’t know what my dream is and I don’t know if I will be able to survive as strongly as she has in this harsh world but everyday I wake up and am thankful that I have been lucky enough to hear Phoenix’s encouraging words. Words she says with love and belief that even the bad days become better in the end so I hope one day Phoenix will never have any more days where it’s dark but ones that are filled with only love and light. Phoenix, Somin, our dream girl hwaiting!

SOMIN’S ENDING MESSAGE

Dream will always be here, in your heart, in your lives and by your side. I think the thing that makes me understand how lucky I am is that I get to receive so much love and I hope that in a years time or two years time or even ten that people can turn around and say that they were proud to be someone who supported Phoenix

We Just Chillin’ - 7illin’ in the DREAM ep 1

synopsis: the first episode of 7illin’ from Phoenix’s point of view 

note: each episode will have it’s own story! this is kinda how i envisioned her in the dynamics and fingers crossed it follows each episode right... 

warnings: none, zilch, nada 

The sound of gravel crunching was lost between the breeze and the sound of laughter building down the road. Jeno turned his head back as he watched Somin pull out her phone taking photos of their surroundings, smiling brightly under his mask as she directed to camera to him then reaching out to grab his hand the two continued the short walk together. 

The sounds of Haechan and Chenle at the hoop welcoming them, after saying a quick hello, Somin scurried off to sit with Renjun in the shade, almost collapsing onto the boy as he whined from getting knocked. Closing her eyes, she took a moment to just breathe, feeling all the stress and anxiety her body had been holding beginning to disperse at the touch of the warm breeze and the sounds of her friends being carefree. Without noticing the time passing, Somin suddenly felt a weight rest over her legs as Jaemin wiggled onto the couch, squinting her eyes open she patted his chest before shoving his legs off her as she skipped towards Mark, clinging onto the blue haired Canadian. The two having not seen each other from conflicting schedules, he squeezed her shoulder as he led the two of them around outside as he was taking everything in. 

As her eyes adjusted to the inside of the house she couldn’t help but let out a small gasp at the interior. Unbeknownst to her, Mark and Jeno’s eyes met and they shared a look as the girl darted out from the elders grasp and began exploring her surroundings. 

“Wow.. this is like what my dream house used to look like,” Turning his head, Haechan laughed at her, “Is it still your dream house because you have all of Dream here with you?” “Yuck, no, my dream house has a no Haechan rule” 

Somin quickly ran upstairs to avoid the dramatic smack that was headed her way, the laughter followed her up the stairs as they continued to explore. 

As they sat together, Somin moved behind Haechan as they began to settle down, grabbing a pillow she crossed her legs as she drifted off to sleep already, 

“-o, Phoenix should decide where she sleeps first!” “Yah! You’re only saying that because there are camera’s” “Pfft no I’m not” “You shove her off the couch at the dorm all the time be quiet” “Somin-ah, are you fine if we decide by playing sciss-” “I could honestly care less, as long as Jeno is in the house I’m fine with whatever” “Hey!”

Laughing at her response the group began their game, Chenle shifting slightly as he felt her head rest on his back taking note as how her breathing became more spaced out despite the chaos ensuing. 

As everyone sulked in their own way after deciding rooms, Somin caught Haechan pulling open her bag as he began opening it much to her dismay. 

‘You brought so much stuff..” “I’m a girl I require more things” She responded shrugging her shoulders, 

“Okay! Lets see, we have masks, lotion, more lotion,” “Why do you have so many?” “Because one is just normal and the other one is like a perfume one, I layer it” “Ahhh it makes sense,”

“Oh sheet mask! Charger, battery, a book?” Laughing at his confusion she grabbed the book, “What is it?” Chenle reached over to open it as she smiled at Jisung, “It’s called The Art of War, it’s a present that I got from Jaehyun oppa when we were talking about my degree” Nodding they watched Haechan continue to dig through the bag, the group quiet as he pulled out a single polaroid in a id case, he shifted his eyes to meet hers before putting it back in the bag, “And that is it, everyone clap!”   

After everyone had left to do their own thing, Somin went off to grab her book as she sat outside on the balcony, listening to the laughter and mumbled sounds of conversations. She pulled out her phone and sent a message to her dad as she leaned back to take in the scenery. This is exactly what she needed.

Stolen Attention

Synopsis: phoenix feels left out when Jisung steals away Jaemin’s attention that she had

Note: somin is having a hard time and she just wants attention,, but this is actually the last request for phoenix for a little bit because i’m planning to grow her story more! but please enjoy and as always

It was deserved, the whole of NCT Dream finally being able to just relax and spend proper time together with no outside stressors. Sure they were being filmed essentially every minute but for Phoenix this is what made her happy. Being away from the craziness that was the city and company, there, with her friends. She did miss her two housemates but she was sending them texts to make sure that the two boys back home were eating more than a pack of ramen a day.

Phoenix liked it when they were all doing their own thing, despite what many people believe the group wasn’t always extreme and loud. Moments that she loved were ones that she was experiencing at this second.

Jaemin laid across the lounge upstairs, relaxing into the plush as one hand held his phone as he either watched a video or scrolled through a timeline, she wasn’t sure of which but whatever it tended to be he would let out amused huffs here and there. His other hand, lay in her hair, gently scratching the scalp and tugging now and then to relieve any pressure she was unknowingly suffering.

Phoenix was completely content with sitting there, against the couch, as long as Jaemin kept playing with her hair, that was until Jisung spoke up from next to them, the girl completely forgetting that he was even there with how silent he had been.

“Hey hyung, we should play a round before we get called to do something”

Humming in agreement, Jaemin turned his body slightly to get more comfortable, and in so, removed his hand from the, now no longer sleepy Phoenix.

As he shuffled, Phoenix let out a small whine of annoyance, hushing the girl, Jaemin simply patted the small area between his body and the back of the lounge as a compromise, but having been roped into that kind of spot before by Haechan, she knew that she wasn’t going to get the attention she was now missing.

“We’ll do one round okay little miss princess, then I’ll go back to giving you my hand”

Huffing, Phoenix accepted defeat as she heard the familiar tune of the waiting score as Jisung and Jaemin got ready to play, the younger of the two laughing at how much his noona was whining when she always acted like she didn’t want Jaemin being touchy with her.

One round slowly turned into another as Jaemin declared that he was ‘unfairly killed’, which then turned into three when Jisung got a call from Chenle halting their game causing them to lose at the last possible moment.

If it was any other time the girl would’ve thought herself ridiculous, getting a wave of jealousy from Jisung stealing away Jaemin. He was still there, she could hold onto his shirt, or even move herself onto him for some affection.

Phoenix, did love getting skinship from her same age members, each in their own way. If it had been any other day, she would’ve easy gone to find Jeno, he was always happy to indulge her when she was feeling the need for affection. Even Mark would lay with her, all she had to do was ask - but she didn’t want them. She wanted Jaemin. Her Jaemin.

The heavy feeling of jealousy just seemed to grow and brood inside her more, realising she was only going to feel worse as time passed and more games started, she pulled herself off the ground, hoping some air would help her snap out of her new mood.

Walking outside, she noted how spread out the members had been, passing Mark in the kitchen as he lent against a wall, she squeezed his hand as she grabbed a glass of water before acknowledging Haechan and Jeno by the pool.

Closing her eyes, she focused on the sounds around her and zeroed in on Renjun’s voice carrying through the slight breeze that was around. She felt guilty, but how was she to know that she’d get jealous.

Moving next to the boy, Renjun nodded to her as his voice quieted slightly - but rose it back to the level it was at before once she had situated herself partly lying on the space next to him.

As the song began fading out, he let the next play without his voice accompanying.

“Why are you sulking?”

Rolling her eyes, Phoenix shimmied herself so her head was touching the side of his leg,

“I’m not.”

“You are. Your sulking and your in a mood, what happened?”

Groaning, she looked her member in his eyes, half asking for permission and half giving him a gentle warning that she wasn’t in the mood. Renjun lent back slightly, and shuffled his legs as he laid a pillow that was next to him onto his leg, normally nor caring but there was cameras around. So just in case.

“It’s stupid”

“Reasons when you’re in a mood like this normally aren’t”

“Jisung stole NaNa from me”

The boy let out an aspirated breath, flicking her on the head, in turn beginning to laugh as she whined out annoyed”

“Can you elaborate? How could he steal him, it’s not like he’s yours”

“Well he did, he was playing with my hair and on his phone and then Sung wanted to play some dumb game and he SAID it would only be one round and I bet they’re still playing.. stupid Jisung”

Renjun went to tease her but he could see how badly her mood had began effecting her, Somin didn’t normally care when one of them stopped giving her attention to do something else, she wasn’t that needy but she had been under a lot of stress and Jaemin had been busy.

“You know, I think your being a bit of a sook”

Glaring up at the boy, she pinched his leg, his hand slapping her away soon after.

“You aren’t helping me”

Humming in agreement, the two slowly fell into a silence, Renjun still amused at how oblivious she was being - knowing that as soon as her mood lifted she would feel bad about complaining over something so small.

Phoenix turned her head as she watched Chenle join Jeno and Haechan by the pool, sinking her body down slightly as Renjun’s fingers wound their way into her hair.

Not even registering it when she began falling asleep, some time later waking to laughter and a cool spray of water hitting her face. Opening her eyes noticing how all of the members were out and around the pool, Renjun included.

Tilting her head back, she felt a hand begin slowing, squinting her eyes, noticing the jawline of Jaemin.

“Feeling better little miss moody”

Groaning, she sat up, ignoring the protest of him,

“I was not moody”

“Renjun says different, if you weren’t moody what were you then hmm?”

Grumbling, she reached for his bottle of water, opening it and speaking before replying,

“I wasn’t anything, I don’t know what you mean”

“Oh, what’s wrong, you weren’t jealous were you”

“Don’t be silly”

“Don’t be a baby, baby. I’ll give you all the attention for the rest of the night promise”

“I’m not your baby, Jisung is remember”

Ignoring his teasing, Phoenix left him alone in the seat and moved towards the rest of the group. Jaemin soon hot on her heels, still laughing at her response

“Oh, you’re jealous aren’t you?”

Cooing at her and latching onto her back, a voice broke though their conversation prompting Jaemin to turn his head into her neck, still laughing at how annoyed Phoenix had become with him pointing out exactly how she felt.

“Som, can you connect my phone to the speaker?”

Nodding, Phoenix pulled Jaemin’s arms off her as she began searching for Jeno’s phone, finding it amongst the scattered towels and discarded hoods

“Jeno? Am I your lock screen?”

Freezing as he was half pushed out of the water, he innocently shook his head, whipping it to the direction of laughter escaping Chenle and Haechan.

Losing his breath, Chenle barking out a ‘You weren’t supposed to see that’ before he got dunked by Jeno.

Air filled with laughter as Jaemin’s voice was lost in the noise complaining about how he was meant to be the only one with Phoenix as his background, prompting the girl to lift her brows in his direction.

“Oh, are you jealous NaNa?”

My 7Dream 

synopsis: Phoenix’s ending feelings at TDS 2 

note: i cried many times writing this and there were so many emotions when going through it! but this is my input of dreamie show of 2022

As she stood looking out at the crowd, the feeling that was racing through her was unmatched to anything she had felt before. There wasn’t any stress nor and fear that they wouldn’t know what tomorrow would bring. They were safe. They were Dream.

If she focused enough, she could see fans in the crowd wiping their eyes as they listened to the words given by her members. She held tightly onto Jisung’s hand as his voice began shaking. Manuvering herself around the others to reach him so that she could try and give him some kind of comfort as he let out his thanks to the fans. Hugging him tightly as he finished speaking, she gently tugged his in ear out. As he lent down fans let out screams at the interaction,

“You did so well Jisungie, so insanely well. My baby”

The two connected eyes and hugged tightly before he patted her side, signalling her to go back to standing next to their leader. As she walked past the others, her hand brushed their sides in a silent cheer of strength.

As her time got closer, Phoenix could feel her eyes beginning to burn. The silence slowly grew as she tried to centre herself in her emotions, Mark leaning forward to rub her back. Whenever you’re ready, that’s what he was saying to her. Her hands shook slightly as she lifted her mic, the lights shining so bright that her eyes shut tightly.

Czennie! You waited a while, didn’t you? Cheers filled the stadium as a small smile graced her face, Hmmm… Did you miss us? I missed you all so much, it didn’t feel real preparing for this concert. I spent so long reading all your messages, I was scared that I would let you down. Like the members said, we wanted to show you your Dream. Her voice shuddered as she looked down the line, she knew how much time had passed but she was lost as to how everyone grew up so much. Life is so different now, it feels like overnight we grew up so much. Thank you for growing up with us too. I never tell my members this but when I was younger, I used to have this dream, it was me by myself sitting at the water. I had never been to the beach, and I had only heard stories but in the sky there were only a few stars that I could see and I would always ask them, I would ask, how would I be able to make my dream? I didn’t know what I wanted to do or who I wanted to be, but I was scared that I would be facing my dreams alone… and then I met them

Tears were building so much that Phoenix couldn’t bare to look at her members, I met the most important people in my life, and I never ever want to lose them. Our precious fans, thank you for letting me spend so much of my life loving them, and protecting them and for letting me have them in my life. And to my members, you make everything in my life so much better. From the day we met to the last day that we spend together, watching that sun set over the ocean. Thank you for being my dream.

Phoenix felt arms wrap around her body as her knees began to feel weak. The members felt hopeless as her body began to shake from tears. They began to gather round her not only to protect her from the views of cameras and fans but also to try and centre her. None of them were really aware of how much she felt like she had been facing but through each practice of certain songs they caught her just watching them from behind.

When they had been together on stage before Mark graduated, she had been the last to cry, only briefly tearing up on stage and refusing to break until late at night when they had calmed down from their emotional high. So, seeing her so openly fall apart was tough on all of them. Through every hard part in their lives since being together, she had made it her mission to be their rock. From spending hours in the practice room which led to them falling asleep on the ground curled in a ball in the corner, to sitting up to do homework together and making schedules with times that suited best for everyone to stay connected with their families. She had done everything to make sure that they were successful from home to stage.

Phoenix looked around at the people who surrounded her, her family had been through so much. So many times, of sadness and uncertainty and it led them to here, to now. She was partly embarrassed from her outburst and the other part confused, there was no reason for her to be sad or for her to be crying so much. But she was happy, happy that they finally stood together. Happy that the fans were there, that their friends and family sat out in the crowd. They had achieved so much and they had worked so hard.

Her eyes connected with Jaemin’s, his smile at her was so warm she could feel her heart flutter. Holding out his hand, the blond wrapped her up in his arms once she stood tall again. Placing a gentle kiss on her temple, the two stood side by side as they waited for Mark to give his own ending speech. Gently she felt him dabbing the now drying tears on her face, nudging her slightly he waited until she pulled her in ear out to speak,

“We couldn’t have made it here without you, you know that right?” Nodding she leant more into his side as they turned to listen to Mark, fans were reeling at the loud skin ship that the two were embracing on stage.

As she continued the rest of the concert, throwing hearts at fans and catching herself watching her members she made a mental note to never let go of this feeling and the love she had for every single one of them. She pulled out her phone and began snapping pictures of all the trivial things that kept her happy. The colour of the sea of fans that shined so bright, quick snaps of her members running around, the moon shining brightly in the sky keeping her hopes high. Every little thing that to Phoenix, meant the entire world.

 After the show had closed, the emotions continued to rage through her body. The left over high of such great shows back-to-back, the screams of fans that still echoed through her ears. Every smile that was shared between them and the staff with their own tears melting into the mix. Phoenix held onto each member tightly as they began shedding their mics and belts. As they reached the backdrop to take photos, she pulled them all together as the staff readied cameras and phones,

“Let’s have a sleepover tonight, like how we used to when we were kids.” Mark couldn’t help but coo slightly at her request, whether she knew it or not, her tone matched what it did when they were trainees. The pureness was something he had always wanted to make sure she had, that softness she carried was something that they all needed in the life they led.

“You’re so cute,” rung out Haechan’s voice. Whining as Jeno smacked him slightly as she pouted at him. “Of course we will, it’s tradition right?” Renjun’s voice spoke over the noise that was building more and more. Nodding she hi fived him as he winked at her. They were all pretty open with their feelings and being able to communicate between each other had gotten easier but still Renjun was the first to always indulge her need for time together.

“What should we do tonight?” Chenle questioned as they gathered in accordance, “Hmm, we can just eat and drink? Talk about all of our dreams you know? Like how we used to, we had so many plans back then that we wanted to achieve and now we have I think it’s time for us to make new ones”

Calling their attention from each other they each faced the staff as they got ready for the pictures, behind everyone’s arms two hands sought out each other as they stood. If it could be felt, then no one let on but as the they fell together the flash went off.

I Know Him

Synopsis: She wasn’t sure if it was their first meeting but in this life, it was their beginning

Note: as widely anticipated! Somin and Jaemin’s introduction, hopefully it lives up to the hype!

Sitting in her room, this surely had to be the first time she had done a live in their dorm. Of course their dorm had been shared before through relay cams, but with the members each doing their own thing - Somin had been missing the fans.

As she switched on the live, views began soaring, comments of hello’s and I missed you’s flowing onto her screen, Somin gave a small wave as she took a sip of her tea.

“Hi everyone! I wanted to come and see you all, it’s been a while since I went on live by myself isn’t it? I’m not at the company today, I actually just finished watching a drama!”

Nodding along to comments from fans, she noted a lot of requests asking about the drama she was watching, if she had eaten, where the members were.

“Hmm, where are my members? Renjun is with YangYang I think, same with Chenle actually. Haechannie and Mark oppa are at a schedule, but I’m going to have dinner with some of the 127 oppa’s tonight! I miss seeing them… And the other three? Ahh, I actually don’t know - they’re somewhere probably”

Seeing the same thing repeating in the comments prompted the girl to turn back to her other screen accidentally hitting play, the ending title from Hotel De Luna playing over her small speakers she had connected.

Offering a small smile to the live, slightly embarrassed with herself, Phoenix shrugged her shoulders

“Was that Hotel De Luna? Yeah, I was rewatching my favourite episode again, sometimes when I don’t want to rewatch an entire drama that I’ve seen a lot I just watch my favourites”

Stretching, fans watched as a small smile landed on her face,

“You know, I’m not sure if we’ve said this before, but how Jaemin and I met is kind of similar to a drama. I’d watch it if I’m honest”

Leaning closer to her screen, Somin tilted her head to the left,

“Do you guys want to know how we met?”

Somin was beyond exhausted, today had been such a long day that all she wanted to do was go back to the dorm and crawl into bed. But she had promised some of the other trainee’s that they would all meet up tonight, the night after evaluations was always a tough one, and apparently Mark was bringing some other friends with him.

Making her way to a now empty cafe, Somin secured a larger spot, texting Mark where she was, knowing he would arrive soon. Somin had only been at the company for a few weeks and she had already befriended a handful of senior trainees as well as some of the company seniors knowing her by name now. It was a big change for Somin joining the company, she missed her family and she desperately wanted to indulge in a box of food that wasn’t listed on her diet.

Ringing laughter broke Somin out of her thoughts, as Mark searched the space leading over some trainees, not all of which she had met before. Smiling and nodding towards the older boys, Ten sat himself down next to Somin on her left, whispering a soft hello as he patted her back, Johnny also walked over with the group, mentioning a quick hello before he departed, mentioning meeting up with some friends as he looked at her lost face.

Sitting down were three faces that Somin wasn’t completely aware of, but she had seen one face a few times, he was pretty. Apparently he got in trouble a few weeks back from their vocal trainer because he wouldn’t practice, Somin didn’t believe the other trainee’s when they said it though.

“Somin, this is Donghyuck, Jeno and Jaemin. They’re going to be put in the rookie lineup, guys this is Chu Somin, the trainee I was talking about”

A chorus of hello’s came from the new faces, breaking into conversations, Somin couldn’t shake the familiar feeling she got whenever she made eye contact with Jaemin.

Maybe she had just seen him around the company, but he seemed far too familiar to her, as he leant to pull something out of the bag he was carrying, a jumper landed on the table.

To anyone it would’ve seemed normal but Somin remembered getting on to a train in her first week of being at the company and someone covered her lap with the exact same hoodie, she was in her school uniform and was shifting around a lot as some passengers kept shoving her causing her skirt to lift slightly.

She never got to thank the boy for that, but as he lifted his head, feeling someone looking at him, Jaemin made eye contact with her. Looking back to his jumper he smiled to himself, he knew that this wasn’t their first time seeing each other.

In fact he remembered that on a late afternoon, it started raining out of nowhere. The rain felt like it was poured out of an overflowing bucket as it landed heavy on the ground around his station exit.

That was the second time he saw her, she had on an outfit solely consisting of the colour grey but in all different shades, her bag adorned with pins. She was so busy tunnelling through her bag that it seemed the rain hadn’t even registered in her mind, as she went to step out and into quite a large puddle of rain water, Jaemin stepped into her path, blocking her way.

As she knocked into him, apologising in somewhat rushed korean, she pulled out an all weather jacket with a hood and quickly covered herself as she rushed, now looking ahead and out into the rain.

Somin couldn’t count every time their paths crossed, but he always seemed to know she was there, their eyes always catching. She had spoken to her mum about her interactions and daily life at the company, but at least now she had a name to give whenever she was asked about the mysterious boy that had caught her attention.

As conversations continued around her, Somin realised she hadn’t been paying much attention, as she was asked a question

“Sorry, can you repeat?”

“I just asked how your evaluations went today? Some of the other female trainees mentioned how you had a really hard dance evaluation?”

Groaning Somin sunk in the chair, half falling onto Ten as he laughed at her dramatics,

“No kidding… they made us learn a whole new dance in like 10 minutes and then we had to perform it plus our original dance with zero mistakes and it was so difficult, the trainer was so quick and if it wasn’t for the fact I grew up in Australia I would have had no idea what was going on because he would ONLY speak in english too”

She saw as all their eyes widened, Donghyuck visibly gulping and Jeno sinking down,

“But if you guys want, I heard him say that they’re teaching it to the boy trainee’s next so I can show you it?”

Shouts of thank you’s and a suspiciously sounding ‘marry me’ chorused around the table, nodding her head Somin made a mental note to practice and record a video to give to them - she wasn’t the greatest dancer but she had improved a lot since joining.

“Som! Apparently your scores from today are up already, they’re down the hall”

Jumping to her feet, Somin quickly excused herself, Jaemin following after, saying he needed the bathroom. He honestly just wanted to have a proper conversation with the girl that he had told his mum about. She had mentioned that all these familiar feelings could sometimes be linked to past lives and he wanted to know more about her.

As Jaemin caught up to her, he saw her scanning the paper for her name, looking closer to the bottom of the page, but he saw her name, fourth from the top, the complete opposite of where her eyes searched.

Ignoring the flutter in his chest, he reached for her hand, lifting it and placing her finger just next to her name,

“Good job”

His voice whispered, thankfully no one was around but Somin could swear that her heart was beating so loud that even their group all the way back at the table would be able to hear it.

“Thanks”

Somin turned and looked into his eyes, she had always heard stories from her dad about how when he looked into her mums eyes for the first time it was like everything in the world seemed to hit pause and you noticed everything about them there in that moment. He said it was why they called the eyes the window to the soul.

And as she looked into Jaemin’s she was certain his was the most beautiful she had ever encountered.

“But yeah, that’s how we met! We had a few little meetings but that day was the first time we properly met each other”

Shrugging her shoulders she watched the comments continue to flood the screen, some saying how it feels like something pulled out of a drama, calling them soulmates and saying how they were meant to meet.

Nodding her head, Somin looked at her screen, checking the time

“I think you guys are right, I believe that we were meant to meet each other, I think every one in dream were destined to meet - but the first time I met NaNa’s mum? She cried and none of us knew why but she said it felt peaceful seeing us together which at that time because we were so young, was embarrassing to hear but I like how our story began and how it’s going”

Turning her head towards her door, she noticed the sleepy smile that rested on his face, her live playing on his phone. Shifting, Somin ignored the comments asking who it was, reaching forwards, she said a sweet goodbye with a promise to go live again soon, hopefully with some members next time before ending it and standing to follow him out.

As the two walked into the dark room, the only light coming from under the door and through the break in the curtains, Somin found herself snuggled under the blankets of the bed,

“I’m glad I followed you into the hallway”

Looking into his eyes, Somin felt her lips lift in a smile,

“Me too Jaemin”

You’re Cute When You Blush

Phoenix X Jaemin 

Prompt list : 5. “OH you’re jealous!” 13. “Are you flirting with me?” “You finally noticed”

It was easy to notice how attached members of a group were to each other, the members of NCT Dream were no different. The most openly known duos in the group were the youngest two - ChenJi, as well as the perfect team that was Jeno and Jaemin. Somin wasn’t always the loudest about her attachment to her members but she never shielded away from expressing affection in pubic events with her members, even if her members didn’t want it (namely when she floods Renjun with affection to annoy him). 

Her members were definitely were protective over her, growing up side by side many things were faced, but one thing that always turned heads was changes that happened when it involved one topic - boys. 

Na Jaemin, always showed his heart, he spoke his mind often but you only knew if he was joking or being honest if you knew his language. Jaemin never understood how the mind of his only female member worked, Somin was complicated but always so easy to read. 

The one thing he hated about her though, was how often males approached her. Of course she couldn’t control it, and Haechan always seemed to have a little smirk on his face everytime it happened and he went to intervene. 

So from the time where they grew most comfortable, Jaemin flirted with her, whether it be in front of cameras, staff or other idols. He didn’t care, he wanted to show off that she wasn’t available. 

During one of their trips out behind the scenes of a music show, Jaemin found himself narrowing his eyes as he watched his Phoenix converse with another idol, one he has yet to meet. As he stood, rolling his shoulders back, he could hear the sniggers and jokes being made at his expense,

“You know hyung, you’re awful protective today? Did something happen?”

“Shh, Jisung don’t torture the man, his first love is being spoken to by a guy that isn’t one of us”

Breaking out into laughter, Jaemin turned to them scoffing,

“I wasn’t going to do anything you weirdo’s, I just think they’re a bit overfriendly”

“Of course they are, like three members of their group have admitted to noona being their idol crus-ouch! What was that for”

Jeno, let out a huff of air as he punched Chenle in his leg, as if Jaemin needed another reason to go and grab her.

A small smirk quipped at his lips, as he walked over to where the small group was huddled, Somin standing centre to the junior idols, he spotted his opportunity as he slid into the empty seat that had been offered to her.

Smiling he quickly grabbed her hand and slid her frame onto his lap, handing her a bottle of water and her phone before eyeing all the members with a sweet smile. 

“Whatcha doing princess?”

Smiling into his eyes, Somin started rambling on and on about the conversation she had been having, slowly but surely turning all of her attention to Jaemin, just as he wanted. 

“And then..are you even listening to me?” 

Letting out a simple humm, he swept a loose strand of hair back into place,

“NaNa, if you wanted my attention you could’ve just asked...”

Smiling he placed a brief kiss to her temple, 

“I always want your attention princess”

Tapping her leg, he pushed her to stand as the group was called to head of for recording.

Somin always found herself being flirted with by her members, it was in their nature, and she was lying if she said she didn’t join in here and there. But without fail, Jaemin was the main offender when it came to her.

From the time they met, he seemed to always aim to flirt with her. It would be as simple as him holding her to his side whispering in her ear, to him blatantly winking across the room to her, or pulling her into his lap in any room. 

She couldn’t count on her hand the amount of times they got pulled aside when it first started, until their managers just came to realise it was how the two were - or at least how Jaemin would act. 

As they returned back to their dorm, for some reason Phoenix couldn’t shake how Jaemin had acted, it wasn’t like he did anything different. He always kissed the members, and she had sat on his lap before but something about today sat differently with her. And she didn’t know how to figure it out, so she did the only thing she could think of, she called Mark. 

After ringing a few times, Phoenix was greeted by a very lagged Mark, his eyes squinting at the screen,

“Phoenix, I love you but please hang up”

“Oppa help me...”

As the last syllable fell from her lips, she saw him blink and properly take a look at her, sure it was some unghastly hour where he was away but if his little sister needed him he was wide awake

“What’s wrong?”

“Do you think, and please don’t laugh at me”

“Som, I won’t”

“Do you think Jaemin flirts with me, like more than normal?”

Freezing, Somin was about to ask if he was okay when he lost himself in laughter. A reaction that she hadn’t been expecting, and neither had his roommate apparently by the grumbles and simple Mark I will murder you shut up that fell from she presumed to be Taeyong

“How did you not notice? What happened that made you realise this after what? Four years of knowing each other?”

“Well, we were promoting today and I was talking with some juniors and then-”

“Then he came over and stole your attention?”

Nodding her head, Mark still found it adorable how it didn’t click to her

“Listen, if you really think about it, it happens alot with you, if you get stuck text me but I’m going back to sleep now okay?”

“Mmm, sleep well oppa, love you”

“Love you more”

Somin laid back in her chair, trying to recall every time it happened, sure when he was being super bold like that it always happened around other guys but he was always like that...

A soft knocking at her door brought her attention back to earth, Jaemin poked his head into the room, winking at her as he laid himself of Renjun’s bed.

“You know, if I didn’t know you better I would say you were flirting with me”

Sitting himself up, he pulled her closer by the leg of the chair, Somin felt her breathing change slightly and it was as if the light in the room shifted.

Leaning closer to her, his lips began quirking up at the side slightly,

“Oh, you finally noticed that did you?”

Smiling, she sat herself next to him, slightly tickling his side so he would move

“I did, but what I can’t shake was today... I mean you can be pretty bold when you flirt”

“And yet it took you four years to notice”

“Just because you’re bold doesn’t mean I catch on quick, Hyuckie flirts with me all the time too”

“He what now?”

Laughing she fell back to lay herself down, bringing the now pouting boy with her, 

“Oh, you’re jealous!” 

Letting out a laugh, he began pinching her sides lightly,

“Of course, your my first loveeee”

Groaning at the nick name, she pushed his arms away threatening to go find someone else to flirt with her and cuddle.

Some hours later, Renjun began noticing that his phone had begun running flat after watching a movie with the younger members, opening the door to his shared room he couldn’t help but roll his eyes, seeing Jaemin and Phoenix asleep, on his bed. A cartoon playing on the latter's phone

Sick Baby 

June Prompt list: “I have some soup ready for when you wake up from your nap, I’m sorry you’re sick baby” featuring Key

note: a very little June drabble to start! 

Miserable, that was the only way to describe how she was feeling at this point. Her body felt like it was giving up on her but she was enjoying the love she was receiving from Kibum. Somin grew up close to many people in the company, but she always felt so looked after when she was with Key. Their little arguments when he was being dramatic always seemed to make her giggle and she always trusted his opinions on matters. So when she was beginning to feel sick, she didn’t want to risk making anyone else unwell so she asked Key if she could stay at his, knowing he was meant to be going away for a week or so. Key took it upon himself to make sure that she had everything when she was feeling unwell. Lord knows that everyone would wring his neck if she wasn’t looked after. 

On a cloudy afternoon, Key was sat in his living room nursing a sulking Somin as she was reaching the end of her sickly spiral. She was switching between long naps leaning on his regrettably numb legs and getting entertained by the dogs and his running comentary. In one of her scarce conscious moments, she looked towards Key with weary eyes, 

“Oppa, do you think if I ask Kun, he could make me something?” Shifting from his phone, he smiled sweetly at her with a light laugh. 

“Baby, he’s probably busy, why don’t I make you something?” Shaking her head she simply rolled over on the couch, “It’s okay, you’ve been looking after me too much” 

Rubbing her back, he simply hummed as she drifted back to sleep, he knew how much she hated feeling like a burden, even if she couldn’t help it. He recalled fond memories of a tiny Somin visiting dance practices with bags overflowing with snack and singing praises like a morning bird sings its song. Kibum always felt the urge to protect and look after one person growing up at the company and with Taemin he always knew how to but becoming so close with Somin after so many years left him thinking if this is what parents felt when they looked at their child. Sending a quick shopping list off to Minho, he began planning an array of dishes that would help her recover, 

“I will have some soup ready for when you wake up from your nap, I’m sorry you’re sick baby”
