Hey! First of all, I'm so sorry that you're getting these messages! No one deserves to get anon hate and especially not just because they're nonbinary.

Secondly, the thing you have to remember is that while nbphobes like to paint this picture of how the increasing awareness of nonbinary identities is the reason transphobia exists the fact is that transphobia and people not taking trans people seriously existed long before anyone had ever heard the word 'nonbinary'. Nonbinary people as a group are not the reason that binary trans people experience transphobia and nonbinary people as individuals (you, specifically) are certainly not the reason for it either because that prejudice and bigotry? It already existed. Nonbinary people are just an easy target for people to put the blame on, both for transphobic cis people who get to say "hey I would've accepted real trans people but look at all these weird genders? how can I understand that?" and have it excuse their transphobia as well as for nbphobic trans people who find it easier to take their self-hatred and their anger at having people in their life who don't accept them out on nonbinary people rather than out on themselves or their transphobic friends/family.

Being nonbinary is not hurting anyone. It isn't hurting anything. And it certainly isn't the source of all the transphobia in the world. And when people say otherwise, you have to remember that that is not a reflection on you or on the validity of your identity but on them and what they're like as a person. People being nbphobic are the ones in the wrong, not the nonbinary people they're going after. When they say what they're saying that doesn't reflect negatively on you for being what you are, it reflects negatively on them for what they're saying. You shouldn't be the one who feels bad about that, they should, because being nonbinary is not a bad thing but people sending hate to others because they're nonbinary is.
