It’s been a tumultuous week, y’all, on many levels and in many regions of the world. From the Gulf of Mexico region I hail from, to the Shenandoah Valley where I spent a few days, to my current NYC metro home to my slice of New England … not to mention the Caribbean and lands halfway around the world … exterior and interior worlds have buckled against the forces of Mother Nature, man and the mind. Looking out my window as I return to the island I love, I try to place everything in perspective. Our world is small - from my window, I can crane my neck left and still the tip of Long Island at Montauk, and the emerald jewel of RI’s Block Island. And when I turn my head to the right, I see The Aquinnah Cliffs and the islands of Vineyard and Nantucket Sound. These places are so much closer than our day to day experience. But the universe - external and internal - is vast. And our opportunities and abilities to progress ourselves and our world are as broad as the farthest galaxy. There’s much to do and much to learn, and so little time and space in which to do it. Today’s lesson - rest, breathe, refresh, and then seize the day. Life is so much shorter, and unfortunately smaller, than what the universe can accommodate. #carpediem #phoenixtales @phoenixtalespodcast https://www.instagram.com/p/CTYEnsGn03U/?utm_medium=tumblr
