Artic watched Emperor close as he continued to rub at his non existent arm his headfeathers quivered and he eyes started to water. Artic was taken back for a moment and took a moment to choose his words carefully “We all make our own choices in life you are not responsible for the actions of your father Emperor you at least tried to stop him” Emperor said nothing but he did close his eyes as war tears filled his eyes.
It took only a few minutes for the other to finally speak “Even so he was my father i never wanted to hurt him but i couldn't sit back and let him hurt innocent hatchlings .. “ Artic frowned seeing how broken the other was over the subject “Emperor you had to do it or he would have also killed you i might not be able to understand fully what happened but what i do know is you saved them and stood up for what you believed in it takes a really brave phoenixula to go against everything he has ever known and you did that makes you a hero Emperor ” he said
“Besides i couldn't ask for anyone better to be the father in law to our children never be ashamed of the good you have done Emperor you are not just their hero but mine too you are truly deserving of your title as the ruler of the domain” Artic said giving the other a smile Emperor looked surprised at first before also smiling and rubbing away the tears he had shed.
“Here i always thought you were not that fond of me Artic” the other looked at him confused before laughing “Well if you stop walking in on me and Galaxy when we are trying to have a moment to ourselves i wouldn't give you the cold shoulder all the time old man” he said jokingly “but no seriously knock before using a portal into the room for both of our sanity” Emperor nodded in agreement and gave a nervous laugh “sorry about that” two orbs of light appeared before the two and took shape.
Artic took a hold of the handle of the now formed crystal cup and took a drink “Emperor just know we trust you”he said Emperor laughed “glad someone does .. Artic have you seen my sons Stardust or Galaxy around ?” the other looked at him curiously “I have something important i need to share with them .. i wont live in the shadow of my father anymore or regret the past i will make my own future
“ Artic smiled happily as he looked out over the balcony over the frozen world below “To a future were we can all exist together in harmony regardless of our difference and species” he said raising his glass to Emperor who raised his own before taking a drink. For the remained of the night the two stood at the balcony watching the night sky till early hours of dawn deep in discussion before Emperor finally opened a portal to take his leave he had to find his sons he had something very important to tell them.
Before he did so he turned one last time to look at Artic “Thank you i...” he started to say before the other interrupted him “no need to thank me now you better get going and find your boys i can hear the kids calling “ he said both gave each other a bow and the portal sealed behind Emperor leaving Artic to go and tend to his children.
