Today is November 1st, I want to start a project this month. I'll be drawing only Asian in the next 30 days. As our babysitter works for many Chinese family, she told me some stories about her experience. I've discovered how many Chinese are feeling inferior toward foreigners, especially Caucasian. They think western culture are better, western people are better. Or they think if they don't eat Chinese food, they are more like western people. I understand our politics can be a problem, but that doesn't change who we are or make us worse. I also mentioned earlier, lot of Asian work really hard to "fix" their pronunciation when it comes to speaking other languages, for "fit it the society" better. But what is society? Society is made by us, many different types of people, that form the society. So even you don't speak the language, or you don't wear the same clothes, you still belong to the society. Don't let the standard of the society tell you who you are, don't let other people tell you what to do. I'm here to remind everyone that we Asian are also somebody, we can be beautiful, powerful, and everything else as everyone ELSE. So today I'm gonna start my 30 days #ProudToBeAsian project.
