Artifact of the Day: Item 0002 Compendium of Wooden Books
This collection, donated by a private collector from the wet world of Pholeem, describes the rich flora and fauna of the mangrove oceans witnessed on the first expedition of Yunice the Ventured. Yunice, being a trained naturalist, had a vast wealth of knowledge and quickly burned through his scant supply of paper available on his ship documenting his observations. Being unskilled in the art of papermaking, he inscribed his latter notes on bound pieces of wood harvested from the surrounding forest. When his ship sank due to the added weight of his documents, all paper records perished among the roots of the sea. Fortunately, these tomes were recorded, some floating on the surface, others snared in the mangrove canopy at high tide.
