Staff Bio: Veritable Quim, Director
Veritable has been the Director of Our Museum of Unnatural Order for eight hundred and forty-seven years, far longer than her natural lifespan would allow (thanks to her guardianship of the Director’s artifacts). But even without the nigh-immortality granted by her position, her life would still be worth describing.
Veritable was the second of three children born to Portial and Ben Quim. Her older brother was the child intended for promotion, but tragic circumstances led to Veritable's own coronation to Director at the age of sixteen. Before the promotion, she spent several years as a member of a certain humanitarian organization centered outside the museum, allowing her to bring unique and sometimes controversial perspectives to her new role.
Despite administrative disapproval, Veritable advanced to serve as head of this prominent outreach group, spending late hours in conversation with her committee after completing her directorial duties. Then, the first wave of the plague swept our universe. OMUO entered quarantine and communication from beyond the museum was restricted. The Director threw herself into her work, restoring old wings of the museum that had moldered untouched for generations, but as decades passed and the quarantine didn’t lift, she began to lose enthusiasm for her work.
She has declared her imminent retirement, though she has agreed to serve as acting director until the succession process is complete, aided by the assistance of a special council established to take some of the menial tasks off her shoulders. She will be the first director to retire without a clear heir in the bloodline to take her position.
Veritable likes long walks in less popular wings of the museum, Taco Wednesday, and any living creature that can hold a conversation.
