Photo a Day Project
As I reflect back on the semester and on this project in particular, I find that I have really enjoyed it. Taking a photo a day was pretty easy for me because I love to take pictures. I feel that it was very beneficial to have to take photos on a daily basis, even though at times, with hectic schedules and life’s circumstances it was not always easy to take photos, but because we had to do this on a daily basis, this project gave us the opportunity to explore everything we have learned and discussed in class and actually apply it. I just never realized what it took to capture what the eye actually sees into a photo. I think that is the biggest thing I learned from this project, and with continued practice, I am learning to acquire a whole new different perspective, which is not just seeing through artistic eyes; but also applying composition, form, color, light, and everything that is included together, to create a great photo that truly captures what I am seeing, and one that also tells a story that can be interpreted by those that see my photos.Overall it has been very interesting to not only continue to see through artistic eyes, but to learn how to see in a way that can help one to capture those moments. I think that letting myself open up and to really be free about “putting myself on my canvas” has been one of my biggest struggles as an artist, and I continue to strive to push myself past the boundaries that I have been comfortable within. I am very glad to have had the opportunity to learn what I did from this project and this class.
