Pest hung out of the window on the passenger side of Party Poison's Trans Am. The wind whipped through his hair, getting dust and sand caught in the spiky strands. He could see the outskirts of Battery City, the graffitied wall coming into view at the horizon.

They had driven out all the way from Zone 5, going as fast as the car would let them, to rescue Famine. Pestilence was prepared to die storming into the city to save his girlfriend. Fortunately, a mysterious someone had busted her out of detention. She'd relayed that much over the radio Pest carried with him on his belt. He hoped they'd find her before any BLI scarecrows.

Poison and the Horsemen got to the wall, and Pest leaped out of the car, running along until he could find an opening. "Fam?" he screamed as loud as he could, hoping his voice would reach her.
