Thank you so much!!
hi! so sorry if you've answered this before, but I was wondering if you had any recommendations for blogs that post similar content to yours? I'm getting into historical recreation and want a dash full of 18th century! thank you ❤️
Hi!
I’m pretty sure such post exists in the blog archive BUT not even I have been able to find it, soooo, let’s make another one! Here are some (I’m pretty sure these are not all) blogs I follow with 18th and early 19th century content:
AESTHETIC
@theprinceregent has a beautiful aesthetic blog with the occasional quote and historical data.
@montmartre-parapluie pretty post from various centuries.
HISTORY
In both a general and particular way.
@britishimerialglory British military history.
@missedinhistory if you know the podcast, here is the tumblr.
@tiny-librarian history bits, sometimes pretty historical clothes and quite a lot of Egyptian rants (which I totally love).
@vivelareine all things Marie Antoinette.
@beggars-opera mainly American history and quite funny text posts.
@bantarleton British military history, great images, funny memes and sharp comments on period dramas.
@john-laurens all things John Laurens.
@thecivilwarparlor all things Civil War.
@archaeologicalnews news about archeology.
@roses-and-railways 18th, 19th and 20th century history.
ART & ARCHITECTURE
@historicroyalpalaces just as it sounds, stuff about historic royal palaces.
@spoutziki-art art. Just art.
@master-painters many wonderful art details.
@artdetails art details. That’s it.
@versaillesadness rococo architecture.
FASHION HISTORY
People blogging mainly portraits and surviving garments, and sometimes some fashion history information.
@history-of-fashion a never ending source of portraits.
@howtoreadadress sharing the name with the book, Lydia Edwards shares some info for dating fashion. Since she’s not so active on tumblr, I recommend follow her on instagram.
@historicalcorsets a collection of stays, corsets and other historical undergarments.
@professorpski notes on fashion, history and dressmaking.
@hoop-skirts-and-corsets fashion history data, gifsets from period dramas and nice references for (maybe) your next project.
@edwardianattire existing garments of Edwardian fashion.
@lamodedelabelleepoque early 20th century fashion, perfectly tagged by year. This is one of my favourite visual reference tumblrs.
@savilerow British tailoring.
COSTUMERS / HISTORICAL REPRODUCTIONS / COSTUME DESIGN
People watch period dramas, sew clothes, dress in historical clothes and I love them.
@vinceaddams he makes 18th century and early 19th century fashion always with a dark/goth twist. I’m never getting bored of black, white and red. (you can also follow him @vincents-crows )
@vestireltiempo this girl totally rocks, Just follow her, I know what I am saying.
@cisforcostumes we always love to take a look at movie (and series) costumes.
@petitedeath sews historical costumes and her complete outfits are delightful.
@lochiels a LOT of gifsets.

@recycledmoviecostumes costumes are used and reused in film and this blog points them out.
MUSEUMS / ACADEMIC / RESEARCH
if you’re looking for sources even more documented:
@jstor you can hardly get more academic than this.
@librarycompany is a research library specializing in American history from the 17th - 19th centuries.
@smithsonian no very related to the 18th century BUT it’s a nice blog to follow.
@usnatarchivesexhibits and @usnatarchives National Archives Museum in Washington D.C.
@cityoflondonlibraries City of London libraries.
@thegetty The Getty museum.
ooh! I'm on mobile so I can't really check but have you ever drawn tar-míriel or berúthiel?
I personally love Berúthiel and I wish there was more information about her. Also she’s pretty cool cause she’s gotta have some kind of way to communicate with her cats. I personally like to think she’s able to see through their eyes and hear through their ears/minds :) Also, how cool would it be if her cats were large cats :>
Tar-Míriel. Gotta be honest, most of the ladies’ stories of the Silmarillion make me nearly weep but Míriel’s story/ending is probably the most devastating to me. Here she is before the first Wave hits Númenor.
listen alaina. I have a Big crush on the Big man. dom is a handsome boy and I am weak. help. what do I do
AHHH ok listen to me .. U can do so much better than the trash man … His lashes may be long and his muscles may make u swoon but. U must find a Better Man before it’s too late

bellona! https://www.pinterest.com.au/seeliequeen/ch-bellona/ a mage too, which I imagine freaked zev and Ila out, like magical temper tantrums cannot be fun. anyway, bc at this point I am choosing to completely ignore canon, she grows up, runs her own apothecary in antiva marries a nice girl, and both she and her parents live happily ever after! (calling what calling) and that's the story of how I got way too invested in some pixels on a screen lmao
bellona sounds like such a cool character! and a life in antiva w/ your husband, daughter n her wife, living happily together minding your own business, growing plants n going to the beach... that sounds like the life! n haha don’t worry, i have pinterest boards for all my chars’ kids i get SO invested in this stuff!

she's a stereotypical squishy dalish archer haha, mostly bc I was really bad at dao the first time round. I think after origins she'd probably try to actively avoid any big events, she just wants to live her life in peace. tho u know w zev life is never going to be quiet, and she's going to have to be dragging him out of trouble lmao. they end up having a daughter, but I cant decide if that should be part of her canon or not......
it makes sense! the warden’s been through enough, let them chill with a cocktail on the beach hahahah
ooo, whats her name? what is she like??
