Baseball Intrasquad Scrimmage To Replace Alumni Game Feb. 7
Due to logistical issues, the 2015 team’s intrasquad scrimmage, which was originally slated for a 1:30 p.m. start on Saturday, Feb. 7, has been moved up to a noon start and will replace the Alumni Game.
Any alums in attendance will be recognized during batting practice and are invited to participate in the team’s regular pregame activities on the field.
The day will still include guided tours of Phoenix Muni featuring the renovated clubhouse and new Sun Devil Baseball legacy signage, an autograph session with the 2015 team, and a Q&A session with head coach Tracy Smith.
“I want our alums to be hanging around the clubhouse, getting to know our players. It is important for the development of our team for our current guys to be involved this program’s history,” Coach Smith said. “It is unfortunate they won’t have that opportunity this spring, but we held a great event this past November with our alumni and we look forward to continuing that tradition.”
The Sun Devils open the season against a pair of preseason top-five teams beginning on Feb. 13 against reigning Big 12 Conference champion and preseason No. 5 Oklahoma State. ASU hosts a three-game series the following weekend, Feb. 20-22, with College World Series participant and preseason No. 2 TCU.
