Transformer in physics

Transformer is a device which is used for changing the voltage of an AC power source to higher or lower value.

Principle of transformer in physics         It is based on principle of mutual induction that is an emf is induced in a circuit due to a current changing in a neighbouring circuit.

Symmetry operations in solid state physics

Symmetry operations

It is an operation that transfer the crystal to itself is known as symmetry operation.  This is four types 1. Rotational 2. Translational 3. Reflection 4. Conversion Rotational symmetry operation.

     

There are two types of rotational symmetry operation . In proper rotation move an object, but do not change the handeness of the object.  

  In improper rotation include a proper rotation as well as a component that inverts the handeness of the object.    

  An n fold proper rotation operation represented a counter clockwise movement of (360/n) around an axis through the object.    If n fold rotation operation is present n times, then the object returns to its original position.
