To say Iluka was surprised was an understatement. She had thought that no one would go home without a bid, which thankfully was the case, and expected that for the most part people would be getting dates with strangers or acquaintances at the minimum. It was something she had expected for herself, but when the announcer called out her bid - her advance bid - from Mark, she was speechless. Unexpected? Most definitely. Unwanted? Now she wouldn’t go that far. But one thing she knew for certain was that if this was some plan to get in her favor for freebies, he was about to be heavily disappointed.

Alex grinned lazily and leaned back as Claire went up to auction. He’d bid the minimum amount on her in advance to piss her off. He didn’t expect to win, obviously, fairly certain that there would be a bidding war over the hot blonde. As expected, when she heard the advance bid, her eyes widened and she shot Alex a glare that could kill. He smiled brightly at her in response. But to his surprise, when the buzzer sounded, his bid was still the only one. Alex’s smile widened. He’d won her at minimum bid... Ohhhh, this was gonna be so fun to tease her about on their “date”. 

As Alex stepped onto the stage, he wondered how much he’d go for. It had to be at least more than minimum if he was going to make fun of Claire. So, when he heard that he had an advance bid of 10,000G placed on him, he grinned triumphantly. The victory was short-lived however as he saw the bidder. 

Ray. 

He prayed for someone to save him, but as the ding sounded, nobody had advanced the ten grand. Storming off the stage, he wondered if it was too late to drop out.

Lily didn’t know what had overcome her. As she scanned through the list of names describing who would be up for auction, her finger paused on one in particular. The name was too uncommon for it to be a coincidence, and she knew it had to be him. Her heart leapt. Without thinking, she slammed thirty grand on the table and placed an advance bid. Hopefully, with that amount, nobody would try to outbid her. 

She was disappointed to be moved on to round two, but her spirits were lifted when two men engaged in a bidding war over her. Three, if you counted Chase offering the Announcer some lint for her, which had earned him a swift punch to the arm as soon as she was off the stage. But to be won for 21,000G was quite the compliment. She couldn’t wait to learn more about the attractive young man who’d won her. And she’d won with her bid on Ludus, too, unsurprisingly, giving her the excuse she needed to see him again.

It was for charity, after all.

[🐎] — Georgia hadn’t really intended on actually participating in the auction, only really going to support Kamil, Ash and her other friends taking part. But then she messed up and accidentally signed up Neil for the damned thing, and even though he didn’t quite know that fact yet (that she kinda-sorta forgot to mention but will totally tell him about... later) she felt that she had to make it up to him somehow.

And what better way to do that than to subject herself to the same thing she was putting him through?

So here she was, taking part in a date auction she had no real interest in, possibly putting herself up for major embarrassment, all for the sake of a friend. Or... something like that, anyway.
