Wild Encounters || Lloyd & Ondorus
Too careless, paying no mind to the warnings as of late. The warnings about what exactly lurked in the forest nowadays. The strange monster sightings, further and further from the center of the forest. And none of the monsters of the friendly sort. All ones that would attack on sight, without regard to who or what it was targeting.
Ondorus took in a deep breath, nursing a bloody gash on the side of his head, looking out towards a wolf that had unfortunately refused to listen to reason. It had taken him off guard, and now all that Ondorus had was the hope that he could end it all soon. He had no joy in defeating a creature such as a proud wolf...but if it was feral like this, it would only continue to attack him and anyone else wandering too close to the woods.
He would need to drop his disguise for a brief moment. Just so he knew for sure that he would end this as swiftly as possible.
Ondorus closed his eyes, concentrating on a wind spell. And as the runes flowed from a proud horn into his hands, his disguise peeled away. For the moment...Ondorus appeared as he truly was. A proud, powerful Univir. A horn protruding from his forehead. Markings along his face that glowed and pulsed the more power he used. Everything that he was, out on display.
And in the moment he had his guard down...he felt the snap of a twig behind him.
Just at that moment, Ondorus unleashed a wind spell, cutting into the wolf and sending it fleeing away. And afterwards, Ondorus stood there, tense. Carefully listening for any sudden movements.
Finally, his lips parted, eyes focused on the area ahead, where the wolf just was.
“You may come out, if that is what you intend,” Ondorus spoke, reaching up to wipe away some blood dripping down his cheek, “I assume that you do not intend to harm me? If you were a hornless intending to do such a thing, I feel as though you’d already be striking me down.” He blinked, slowly turning his head to meet ones of a stranger standing between several patches of foliage. And Ondorus waited.
Hoping that this hornless would not prove him wrong.
