Happy Father’s Day! I am fortunate to have had four father figures in my life. ： - My dad has made decisions and sacrifices in order to take care of our family. In addition to a full-time job, he helps me navigate through the trials and tribulations of adulthood. When he does grocery shopping, he will buy me tasty vegetarian food. - My Opa was my paternal grandfather who emigrated from Germany. He loved telling me stories about his travels including his time living in Saudi Arabia. He inspired me to have my own adventures. - My Grandpa Dick was my paternal grandma’s second husband. Both of his daughters from his previous marriage were all adopted, and now have their own families. He taught me that family is not flesh and blood; it is about the love shared. - My Grandma Ellsworth or would-have-been Gung Gung was my maternal grandfather. He was a doctor who took care of four children. He passed away long before I was born but he lives on in the stories my family tells us. ： There is so much that I have learned from them.
