I rarely post workout videos but had a strong desire to post this one. This is my workout after a 10-hour shift at the pet hospital and a 40-minute commute home. Due to the current shortage of veterinary staff in the US, my shifts have been more demanding, both physically and mentally. COVID-19 has only presented more obstacles for my co-workers and I. After a particularly difficult day, I arrived home, feeling defeated and emotionally drained. : Despite this, I changed clothes, picked up my weights and completed 45 minutes of cardio. I realized that I am stronger than I give myself credit for. When I am overcome with feelings of self-doubt, I need to remind myself of a few facts. : I am the same person who packed her belongings and moved abroad by herself without being fluent in the language. : I am the same person who became (near) fluent in that language. : I am the same person who travelled alone in five different countries. : I am the same person who lost the weight that I gained from a toxic work environment. : I am the same person who can support a pet and their family before their euthanasia and move to the next appointment within 10 minutes. : I am the same person who can fulfill her weekly fitness goals, even at the end of a tough day. : Life can try to bring me down all it wants but I’m not going to let it.
