Comma Cheat Sheet for Rory!!
* This is important because it affects the understanding and readability of your manuscript. It also saves me from future ‘existential’ crises.*
There are other uses for commas than just these, but let me worry about the more complicated stuff. You can probably find these easily online, but you can easily memorize and practice this list at the very least. :P
1) Used to separate two adjectives
2) Make a sentence that involves a group of 3 plus words easier to understand
3) Used whenever someone is being addressed
4) Whenever someone has been identified and a description follows
5) Used to separate two sentences/independent clauses. These can be paired with conjunctions (and, but, for, nor, yet, or, so)
6) Before and after a short quotation
You brought this on yourself. <3
